Questions and Answers
Visit the Tatuaje Cigars Website!
Made in Nicaragua at the My Father factory by Jaime Garcia, the Tatuaje Reserva are rolled in classic Cuban tradition with Cuban seed tobacco grown in Nicaragua and a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. They are medium to full in flavor and feature a beautiful Cuban triple-cap.
The standard Toro shape is 6 inches by 50 ring.
A box pressed cigar is a cigar that has a square shape. Originally, this shape came from the practice of packing round cigars tightly in cardboard boxes which are then compacted using a manual press. The cigars are thus pressed into each other and become a "squarish" or semi-square shape. Today, cigar makers use square shaped molds or a wooden trunk press for their box pressed cigars, achieving a more defined square section.
This cigar is 6"1/2 inches long, or 165.1 mm.
Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Cigar Ring Gauge
The cigar ring gauge corresponds to the diameter of a cigar, this cigar has a ring gauge of 52, so his diameter is 52/64 inches or 20.57 mm.
Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Natural wrapper, also known as Colorado Claro, is light brown in color.
Handmade cigars are completely made by hand from start to finish.
My Father Cigars
My Father Cigars manufactures handmade premium cigars in Miami and Esteli, Nicaragua. The company is owned and operated by Don Pepin, his son Jaime, and his daughter Janny. The "Garcia Family Industrial Park" located in Esteli, Nicaragua is a seven-acre complex with 9 buildings, over 1900 employees, where the Garcias supervise their cigar production from the tobacco field to the roller's table. Their Miami headquarters house 12 rollers that make all of the company's "handmade in Miami" brands.
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Ecuador is the perfect place to grow wrappers, because it is located on the Equator! And it has rich soils too. The weather conditions, with a nearly permanent cloudy sky, provide a natural shade, protecting the wrapper plants from sunshine and allowing the tobacco to grow thin and light. Ecuador supplies Connecticut and Sumatra type wrappers to many cigar factory in the world.
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.

Delicious cigar for special occasions. Expensive stick but worth it. Great construction and great even burn. Medium strength with full flavors.
The price of this cigar may turn some people away but it is well worth the money!! I am a big Tatuaje fan anyway but had never tried the Cojonu 2012 line. I was very happy that I finally did!!Throughout the cigar I was tasting notes of black pepper expresso and cocoa. Started off somewhat spicey but at the same time had some creaminess. Then nutty notes took over with spice still in background. The burn and draw were very nice throughout this smoke. Consistency was top. This cigar also had complexity to keep you on your toes. Overall very impressed with this cigar and look forward to smoking the Habano and Broadleaf Cojonu 2012. Definitely will not get bored with these smokes!
Good cigar but the burn is uneven. Also a bit too pricey!
Cigar is looked great, draw was good, Very loose. a lot of smoke through out. Very spicy through as well.
Nice smoke, very smooth sweet almond taste, love Sumatra wrapper , a stick you never get bored . Perfect with a glass of Gavi or Lugana white Wine.
