The Asylum 867 Zero is a flavor-infused cigar that uses the steeping method to add its unique flavors to the cigar. It is the first time Asylum has released what they call, “aromatic flavors via exotic tobaccos.” The cigar is a Honduran puro that sports an inviting maduro wrapper. Once the cigars are rolled, they are infused with flavors by submersing them in a flavored liquid or by using methods similar to aroma therapy, where the cigars are placed in a closed environment and allowed to absorb the flavors. The cigars are handmade in Honduras at the CLE Cigar Company factory.

I really liked this cigar. It has a very pleasant sweetness from the start, not at all overpowering, which makes it really enjoyable. It’s not a strong cigar, more medium in strength, but still full of character. What caught my attention the most was that explosion of aromas: sweet and aromatic notes that pair perfectly with a coffee. It’s one of those cigars you can smoke in a relaxed way without it overwhelming you, while still keeping you engaged with its flavors. I would definitely smoke it again.

A creamy berry and vanilla sweet nougat with a woody aroma and retrohale. Only issues were the strange burn needing upkeep, my personal preference with dessert flavors becoming cloying rather quickly especially if bad stick and strange draw that can happen on occasion with always lovely looking well constructed Asylum sticks.

The 867 Zero is an easygoing smoke. It’s smooth with that touch of sweetness up front, but lighter and more straightforward than the Midnight Oil or Auntie. It stays in my rotation and can be hard to find in local shops.

Smooth easy flavors, hard to pin down exactly what, but not overpowering. Not really sweet, but not as complex and pleasing as Midnight Oil by Asylum. I did enjoy this, but for a little more, I'd burn the Midnight Oil ;)
