The Blackbird Unkind is a medium-strength stick that is hand crafted in the Dominican Republic. A dark, Brazilian maduro wrapper is draped over the Unkind’s Dominican binder, which contains an exquisite filler composed of USA Pennsylvania, Corojo, Habano, and Criollo 98 tobaccos. The Blackbird Unkind has a unique flavor due to its rich Brazilian wrapper.

The Dominican Republic is the world's first producer of cigars. Most factories are located in Santiago, in the center of the island, and in close proximity to the tobacco fields grown in the fertile Cibao Valley. While tobacco and cigars have always traditionally been produced in the Dominican Republic, many Cuban cigar makers established in the Dominican Republic after the Cuban communist revolution, elevating the quality of Dominican cigars.

The Northern State of Alagoas hosts a production around the city of Arapiraca where maduro wrappers are grown.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Dominican Republic is a traditional tobacco-growing country. In the 60's, a Cuban seed was introduced and the resulting tobacco, called Piloto Cubano, became famous as a good substitute of the Cuban tobacco that was no longer allowed to enter the USA. Piloto Cubano is full bodied while the Dominican Olor tobacco is milder but more aromatic.

I’ve only experienced the Jackdaw so far. It was perfectly balanced, slightly sweet, and quite delicious. I patiently smoked this one for about 50 minutes. I paired it with a nice 5.5 percent fruity IPA. The burn was even through and through. Really looking forward to experiencing the others in this line up.

This was my second time ordering the Blackbird cigars. Although I was missing.part of my last order it was promptly taken care of. The construction of these cigars has been flawless, In fact I would be lying if I said I have found a single. negative thing about them. One of my new favorites for sure and.i will definitely be buying more. Side nite, I've been buying the sampler packs and if I absolutely HAD to choose a favorite it would be the Unkind or the Cuco.

I was introduced to this newer brand by a friend. Based on descriptions from the Blackbird Cigar Co. website, I started in this order: Finch, Rook, Jackdraw, Cuco, Unkind, and finishing the sampler with the Crow. So far, I have made my way to the Jackdraw which I find impressive compared to the Finch and Rook. The Finch was a bit too light for my taste but I had no issues with the burn unlike some reviews from other customers. The Rook was a bit better in terms of aroma and taste but I did experience burn issues. The Jackdraw is somewhat complicated in taste but it opens your eyes halfway through. I am really looking forward to the Cuco, Unkind, and Crow. One downfall is the band being its size, it gets a bit annoying when removing it from the stick.

I did not find one that knocked my socks off- they were tasty but nothing distinct to make these stand out themselves or from each other. Build was a bit lose so burn was fast but nothing too bad. I enjoyed these camping with some whiskey- good campfire "gars" in the $5 range.

I've tried the Raven version, which is the same cigar under a different name in a robusto and I found that in the toro it had more more complexity but was slightly less in strength. Great cigar, highly recommended!
