To commemorate the Tabacalera Palma’s more than eight decades of crafting fine cigars, famed cigar maker Jose “Jochy” Blanco enlisted his son, Jose Manuel, to help develop a memorable blend. Jochy’s blend was inspired by his father, Don Nanan, who was a huge fan of the Connecticut Shade wrapper and uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade capa. When developing his blend, Jose Manuel drew inspiration from his father’s love of experimenting with different tobaccos. His blend uses a savory, dark USA Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. Both blends share a Dominican Corojo binder, and a filler made of Criollo ’98 and Dominican Republic Piloto Cubano tobacco. Each box of the La Galera 85th Anniversary comes with 10 cigars of the Shade and 10 of the Broadleaf. The La Galera 85th Anniversary cigar is a fitting tribute to this historic brand’s legacy.

The La Galera Anemoi is handmade at Jose “Jochy” Blanco’s Tabacalera Palma factory in the Dominican Republic. The Anemoi get its name from the Greek word for wind gods. It is a medium to full-bodied cigar that features a reddish, oily USA Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper draped over a Dominican Republic Corojo binder and a filler made of Dominican Republic, Dominican Piloto 98, and Criollo 98 tobaccos. The La Galera Anemoi has a flavor profile that consists of leather, coffee, and nuts.

When creating the La Galera Imperial Jade, which is the sixth release of the La Galera brand, cigar impresario (and La Galera owner) Jose “Jochy” Blanco decided to use the hard-to-get African-grown Cameroon. It is the first time he used a Cameroon wrapper for a La Galera cigar. The wrapper is known for its smoothness, beauty, and flavor, but it is also a thin and stiff leaf, which makes it difficult to work with. But this did not deter Jochy and his expert rollers to create a premium cigar that is a gem to behold and a beauty to smoke.
