The Crowned Heads Le Patissier is a delectable, limited-release premium cigar that offers a balanced and refined complexity of flavors. “Le Patissier” is French for “pastry chef,” and this medium strength, full-bodied cigar can serve as an after dinner smoke or as a delicious treat after a long day. Its savory, dark USA Connecticut Broadleaf maduro wrapper is blended with a binder and filler made of premium Nicaraguan tobaccos. The Crowned Heads Le Patissier is handmade at Tabacalera Pichardo in Nicaragua.

The Dominican Republic is the world's first producer of cigars. Most factories are located in Santiago, in the center of the island, and in close proximity to the tobacco fields grown in the fertile Cibao Valley. While tobacco and cigars have always traditionally been produced in the Dominican Republic, many Cuban cigar makers established in the Dominican Republic after the Cuban communist revolution, elevating the quality of Dominican cigars.

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Connecticut Broadleaf is grown in the United States' Connecticut Valley and is prized for its dark, oily, full flavored and aromatic characteristics. The plants are grown in full sun giving this cigar wrapper its characteristic sweetness. The Connecticut Broadleaf plant leaves are mainly processed as maduro tobacco. Today, Connecticut Broadleaf seeds are being grown in other countries besides the United States.

Nicaragua
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Bit of a snug draw to start requiring double puffs but opened up after first third. Ash was great held on almost half way. No touch ups till final third and flavors were great till about then as well, got a little bitter, purging helped. Would smoke again.

Pretty dang good! Awesome construction, consistent burn and draw, very pleasant fruity, sweet, espresso, leather flavors. The spice is a little strong throughout the smoke, but I believe more age will make that go away, making this an extra smooth smoke. Creamy texture, solid chunks of ash, solid medium strength, a great little smoke overall. Definitely an after dinner, dessert cigar! Toothy as well!

Le Patissier, translated to The Baker, by Crowned Heads is a medium bodied dark leaf cigar with a rich but very accessible profile. The blend is made of Nicaraguan and Costa Rican fillers, a Nicaraguan binder, and a USA Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. The blend was inspired by another popular Crowned Heads blend La Careme. Primary tasting notes are wood, earth, natural sweetness, and a light peppery finish that fades after the first third of the cigar. As a slow burner this 5 7/8 x 52 toro took me the better part of 90 minutes to smoke. Burn and construction were flawless with a slightly resistant draw. An added benefit to the distracted smoker out there, I being one of them, this cigar did not want to turn off and stayed lit throughout my burn time. This cigar is a strong recommendation for anything that enjoys medium to full strength Nicaraguan blends. Even those of you who are spice averse I believe could find a time and a place for this cigar as what little bit exists on the front end mellows out nicely during the burn. The boutique but talented Crowned Heads team has made another winner in this one.

Tasty smoke! Mellow spice, delicious creamy sweetness, and earth note resembling manure ( I know, but surprisingly I have zero complaints). Notes were delivered smoothly. Spice and sweetness took turns at center stage, which lasted throughout the smoke, and made for a playful experience.
