Pennsylvania maduro cigar wrapper comes from Connecticut Broadleaf plants grown in Lancaster county, Pennsylvania. This maduro cigar wrapper is said to be more spicy and leathery than its Connecticut cousin. Though this is not a very attractive leaf, it is appreciated for its rich, full flavor.

Connecticut Broadleaf is grown in the United States' Connecticut Valley and is prized for its dark, oily, full flavored and aromatic characteristics. The plants are grown in full sun giving this cigar wrapper its characteristic sweetness. The Connecticut Broadleaf plant leaves are mainly processed as maduro tobacco. Today, Connecticut Broadleaf seeds are being grown in other countries besides the United States.

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.

To produce a Candela wrapper, the tobacco leaves are harvested and dried quickly before the plant has fully matured. This process locks in the plants natural chlorophyll content and gives the Candela wrapper its green color.

This one was interesting. It looks really cool, so I had to give it a try. I was not impressed for the price. It had its moments; mainlyin the last 3rd, but it had a strange and slightly bitter aftertaste. I think there might just be too much going on with the 3 different wrappers. I wanted to like it though...
