The NUB is a premium cigar that develops it's optimum flavor quickly. The larger ring gauges provide a cooler burning, longer smoking cigar while accentuating the flavors and smoking qualities of his uniquely blended filler. The Habano wrapper makes this cigar a robust, full bodied smoke with delicious flavor.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Colorado maduro wrapper is milk chocolate brown.

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Habano wrapper leaf is Cuban-seed tobacco that is grown and cultivated in the traditional Cuban way.

Nicaragua
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.

Oliva Cigar Company is Nicaragua's second largest grower of tobacco and one of the largest cigarmakers in the world. It all started in 1886 when Melanio Oliva first grew tobacco in Cuba. In 1995, his grandson Gilberto Oliva would launch the Oliva cigar brand, produced in Esteli, Nicaragua. The company's flagship brand, Oliva Serie V, has obtained some of the highest ratings in cigar publications worldwide. Their cigars use mostly tobacco harvested by the company in their various farms in Nicaragua.

They believed that a cigar finds its “sweet spot” at the 3 ½- 4 inch point. All “nub” cigars must exist within this window. No “nub” is longer than 4 inches. Further adding to this complex theory, the ring gauges range from 56-66. The result is a range of smokes that have the same amount of tobacco as any Churchill or even Presidente. Unbelievably, they also smoke as long.

Perhaps it’s me but I couldn’t get much smoke. Draw seemed ok but just low smoke volume. It got a little better near the end but thus didn’t smoke like a full body cigar. The burn was great and no issues. I just wish it had a little stronger bite and/or more volume. For me it needs too much to get a good solid puff. RH 65%\70F, V cut.

Originally I was hesitant on the nub size, but once I tried them I was hooked! The size is deceiving. They’re so packed with leaf and rolled perfectly, that it’s actually a longer smoke than I imagined, a good hour+. I’ve tried (and enjoyed!) all the varieties, but believe the Habano wrapper is my personal favorite.

I used to avoid the Nubs, didn't understand how anyone would bother with such a shorty... then I tried one. Man O Man was I wrong, these are part of the most valuable members of my humidor! Didn't realize how PACKED they were with flavor and tobacco. Slow burn, a totally enjoyable experience, and the perfect size if you don't want to commit more than an hour, and still have that "big" cigar experience. Enjoy them all, but but gravitate to the Cameroon & Habanos the most. The Connecticut is also a wonderful "morning with coffee" smoke. Highly Recommended

Short in stature but that is why you are buying this stick! Burn wasn't the best, draw was tough cause of the 60 RG but the flavors on this cigar are worth it! The wrapper gave off a tasty sweetness mixed with pepper. Retro was providing tons of cocoa and coffee. Phenomenal smoke, I would/will buy more to have on hand.

Great little cigar set - it’s tough to quantify four cigar styles (which came in this sampler) with one review. The set itself was nicely packaged and had even made a few of my friends audibly jealous. They were wondering where i had even found such a set. The punch tool it came with was a nice touch; although, upon using the punch tool, i feel that i was drawing too much smoke, which was nearly forcing me to inhale some. One cigar in the pack burned unevenly. That may have been user error, but i don’t think so. Overall this is a great product and i would recommend to a friend!

I've smoked plenty of NUBS over the years and decided to redeem some SMOKE RING points on the NUBS sampler pack. I wanted a smaller, shorter smoke than my usual LFD D-700s, DIGGERS and my CAO FlatHead 770s, so the NUBS were it. Good flavor, although the four different blends weren't vastly different. Construction is nice, with no plugs, or pineapple burns and while not large cigars, I got a good 40-50 minutes out of each, which is what I wanted. If you're looking for a shorter (time wise) smoke, but want a solid medium flavor, the NUBS should be worth a gamble. Chris

This is a absolutely amazing cigar. Do not be fooled by its size because it offers a wonderful smoking experience. The first draw off the Nub Habano is great and explodes the mouth with flavors. The cigar always burns strong throughout the entire smoking experience and you will especially love the pepper finishing.

Definitely worth a try so you can form your own opinion on this brand and what the smaller form has to offer. I usually like a stronger flavored cigar, but ironically found everything but the Cameroon a bit of a disappointment. That stated, many friends who's pallets I respect based on some excellent recommendations kindly disagree with that opinion. We all agree the smaller form factor is not a gimmick and that the sized punch is a great bonus if you like to smoke this brand.

When this cigar arrived it had a rather unpleasant smell of ammonia, which made me think it wouldn't be very good. How wrong I was! A bit of rest time in the humidor banished all unpleasant odour, which was replaced with a wonderful bouquet of fine, sweet tobacco. Despite the large ring gauge, the draw and burn was excellent throughout. The flavours I noted were mainly of sweet wood and leather. A very nice, one hour smoke, which I would happily have again.
