The La Aurora 115th was created to celebrate La Aurora Cigars rich history and enviable position as the Dominican Republic’s oldest cigar factory. A medium to full-strength cigar, the La Aurora 115th features a dark Ecuadorian wrapper that artfully covers a Brazilian binder and a specially blended filler made of the finest tobaccos from Brazil, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic. The La Aurora 115th flavor profile consists primarily of black pepper that seamlessly transitions to notes of wood, nuts, and citrus with a rich creamy finish. Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
The Dominican Republic is the world's first producer of cigars. Most factories are located in Santiago, in the center of the island, and in close proximity to the tobacco fields grown in the fertile Cibao Valley. While tobacco and cigars have always traditionally been produced in the Dominican Republic, many Cuban cigar makers established in the Dominican Republic after the Cuban communist revolution, elevating the quality of Dominican cigars.

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Ecuador is the perfect place to grow wrappers, because it is located on the Equator! And it has rich soils too. The weather conditions, with a nearly permanent cloudy sky, provide a natural shade, protecting the wrapper plants from sunshine and allowing the tobacco to grow thin and light. Ecuador supplies Connecticut and Sumatra type wrappers to many cigar factory in the world.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Brazil grows tobacco from North to South. The East Central State of Bahia is an important cigar tobacco producer. The growing area is about 100 miles west of the state capital, Salvador da Bahia, an active port on the Atlantic Coast. The Northern State of Alagoas hosts a production around the city of Arapiraca where maduro wrappers are grown. The Southern states of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina produce tobacco for cigarettes and pipe.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.
Brazil produces rich, medium to strong, dark tobaccos with a sweet taste and aroma. Most of the cigar production is concentrated on the eastern coast of Brazil, in the state of Bahia.

Aside from the construction this is one of my favorite sticks from La Aurora. I’m not sure if it was from the pre handling but the wrapper leaf had noticeable cracks and the foot was also in bad shape. Although the appearance wasn’t the best, this did not affect the draw as the cigar started to develop. I ordered 4 of these sticks at once and only one of them had this issue so not a big deal. It delivered smooth creamy slightly sweet notes with a nice medium body in the final third.

La Aurora 115 What I like about this brand is the complex notes that come from them. I would not say I have a tasters pallet in anyway, when I see reviews on line talking about gram cracker and bubble gum. LOL I did pick up notes of Carmel and honey in the first third that shifted more toward nuts, coffee and pepper on the back third of the cigar. However it had a good draw, couple touch ups along the way with a nice aroma.
