As the son of Don Pepin Garcia, one of the most respected names in the cigar industry, Jaime Garcia had a lot to live up to. No stranger to the cigar world, Jaime has worked alongside his father for many years, and after the time was right created his own personalized blend to add to his family's illustrious catalog. First released in 2009, the Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial was instantly well-received, and to this day, this full-bodied Nicaraguan wonder continues to hold a special place in many, many humidors due to its rich sweet-yet-spicy cocoa notes and expert construction. The plants are grown in full sun giving this cigar wrapper its characteristic sweetness. The Connecticut Broadleaf plant leaves are mainly processed as maduro tobacco. Today, Connecticut Broadleaf seeds are being grown in other countries besides the United States.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Jaime Garcia Reserve Especial: Tasting Notes: Cocoa, espresso, nutty, and leather Appearance: The look of the cigar is a dark brown. Origins: the origins are from Nicaragua. First Third: From the light I get hints of cocoa, espresso and a slight bit of nutty taste. The draw is excellent and it also gives a great amount of smoke off of every hit. The cigar hits the medium mark I’d say. Second third: About 30 minutes in I’m getting the same espresso notes with a kick of leather and some cocoa. Last Third: Going into the last third of the cigar. The cigar kept the cocoa/dark chocolate tasting notes throughout the entire smoke with a bit of espresso. Overall a great smoke I would recommend to anyone that loves Connecticut Broadleaf. Amazing cigar!

Series JJ is great, prefer it to original Cuban classic by Don pepin. Easy draw packed with flavor and lots of smoke. Nutty flavor with plenty of pepper and leathery finish. Side note for the box, cigars are great but accessories are horrible and don't work. Still a great gift idea for an occasional cigar smoker

Wow, this is cigar for experienced smokers. It’s no joke. The stick looks impressive and the size is intense in the hand. The draw, even with the tiniest clip of the cap, is like a bong rip! Gotta be careful as you retrohale on this sucker. Burns so nice, profile is medium full to full and overall, excellent cigar for the price.

These cigar "Samplers" are great. When I'm looking for a change in smokes, I usually purchase a sampler pack in my chosen strength. These are a perfect example of why. Several cigars for top brands helps me maintain my enjoyment of the habit. This particular one was excellent, and I'll be ordering a few of these from "My Father's Cigar" next time I order. If you haven't used this way of experimenting, I highly recommend that you do.

Pleasant full flavor. Good smoke, burn needed a few corrections. Developed a crack on the side (probably from being accidentally dropped before lighting) but stood up to it nicely -- good construction. Draw was a bit tight until I opened it up with a star cut.

Unsmokable. After numerous piecing to be able to get even a small draw I gave up. Wrapper split (even before piercing). The draw on this was just too hard. Among the hardest draws I’ve had. MyFather cigars seem to have a harder draw in general but this one was not “especial”.

The Jaime Garcia Super Gordo has become my favorite. It is my "go to" cigar. It has a slow even burn. When I set it down for a few minutes and come back to it, just a draw or two and its still lit. I love the large gage with its torpedo end and its smooth taste.

Has become one of my absolute favorite cigars. Lots of flavor, very pleasing, yet very smooth. Consistent in every aspect. I had the privilege to smoke one in the factory with some. My favorite cigar. It’s consistent with each smoke. Thick creamy, almond-like smoke in the first third. Thinner, heavier leather and earthy smoke in the second third. In the last third you get a full on pepper attack, with a hint of cream to ease the burn. This one is a finger burner.

I love this brand. I've tried the Connecticut, the Centurion H2KCT and Le Bijou. Everyone of them, in my opinion, five stars and a personal favourite. This sampler pack is a great way to try some of the other My Father brands and peak my curiosity without breaking the bank. Who knows, maybe I'll find another great cigar to add to my favourites list. The free cutter and lighter is also a nice touch.

When I first lit the cigar, I was greeted with pepper. Many of Jaime Garcia cigars start off with pepper and then transition. This cigar was different, the pepper was then replaced with hints of wine and earth. The best I can describe the wine taste, is by smelling a wine cork. Overall, this is another great cigar by Jaime Garcia and I was impressed that it did not contain a ton of pepper.

Completely different to its other brothers in this category. This cigar is the perfect Robusto, with a full bodied strength and a lovely flavour in mouth that ranges from hazelnut to dried leather. A supreme stick indeed.

Again, I expected more. Like the Super Gordo, it doesn't change while smoking it. The aroma is a little flat. The construction nonetheless is superb and the oily wrap marvelous. A brilliant cigar, with a not-so-full taste and evolution in flavour and aroma. Will buy a few more to see if they give me a different thrill
