The Ozgener Karatoba is one of those blends that really shows off Tim Ozgener’s knack for balance and refinement. Right off the first light, you get a creamy texture layered with toasted nuts, cedar, and a touch of black pepper that lets you know this cigar has some backbone without being overbearing. The construction is excellent—dense, even pack, slow burn, and a draw that’s open but not loose. Midway through, the cigar opens up with a subtle sweetness, almost like cocoa powder, while the spice smooths into more of a warm baking spice. It’s the kind of profile that feels familiar yet elevated, a nod to classic Nicaraguan blends but with a more polished finish. This isn’t a “knock you down” powerhouse, but it’s not a lightweight either. I’d put it in that medium to medium-plus range, a great option for someone who appreciates depth of flavor without overwhelming strength. For me, the Karatoba smokes like a blend made by someone who respects tradition but isn’t afraid to put a modern spin on it—and that’s exactly what makes it memorable.

Firm construction, open draw, even burn with no touchups needed. Medium bodied and toothy with tons of thick, creamy smoke output. Flavors of bittersweet dark chocolate, woodsy oak and cedar with a hint of peppery spice and dark chocolate bittersweetness.
