The Tatuaje Havana VI Verocu is a stronger version of the popular Havana VI (aka Red Label), which was released in 2007. It is a medium to full-bodied cigar that is expertly handmade by My Father Cigars in Nicaragua. Its dark reddish Ecuadorian Habano maduro wrapper covers a binder and filler made of Nicaraguan tobaccos. Due to its strength and complexity, the Tatuaje Havana VI Verocu is considered a good transitional stick for the novice aficionado or the veteran who is looking for a great everyday smoke.

Cigar Origin
Nicaragua
Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.
Strength

Medium
Wrapper Color
Colorado Maduro
Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Colorado maduro wrapper is milk chocolate brown.
Wrapper
Ecuadorian Habano
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Ecuadorian Habano wrapper has become one of the most used cigar wrappers in the market. Grown primarily by the Oliva family, this tobacco originated from Habano or H2000 seeds brought to Ecuador from Cuba. This leaf is rich and flavorful thanks to the temperate climate of Ecuador and the quality of its volcanic soil.
Binder
Nicaragua
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.
Filler
Nicaragua
Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.
Rolled by
Handmade
Handmade cigars are completely made by hand from start to finish.
Manufacturer
My Father Cigars
My Father Cigars manufactures handmade premium cigars in Miami and Esteli, Nicaragua. The company is owned and operated by Don Pepin, his son Jaime, and his daughter Janny. The "Garcia Family Industrial Park" located in Esteli, Nicaragua is a seven-acre complex with 9 buildings, over 1900 employees, where the Garcias supervise their cigar production from the tobacco field to the roller's table. Their Miami headquarters house 12 rollers that make all of the company's "handmade in Miami" brands.

I received this stick in the cigar aficionado’s 2017 top bargain 8 pack. This is my first stick of the pack. I was looking for a short smoke to enjoy the rain while my daughters were getting ready for school. I didn’t realize it was a Tatuaje, but I decided to look it up as I was enjoying the flavor in the aroma. This is an excellent cigar when you have a short break to smoke. For the price, you cannot beat it. I’m enjoying it all around. Cheers

Fantastic 35-40 minute smoke. Initial pepper blast with some leather and earth, maybe a little wood, but calms down quickly. Nicely balanced.

An excellent little cigar, in line of other Tatuaje Petites. Very worth trying, if you like the vitola.

Nice little smoke. The draw left a lot to be desired. Was hard to pull. But for as cheap as it was, and as tasty as it was, it was still good to me.

The cold draw has hints of raisin. It starts off harsh, but mellows out quick, revealing cookie spices, and a hint of sweetness.

Complex spice! Sophisticated flavors evolve surprisingly quickly across the 4-inch petit corona. The construction is very consistent for such a small vitola, but some of these little guys are rolled crazy tight, even when stored at 69%. I think I would rather have the occasional soft spot than cut a cigar and realize I can't smoke it yet.

Emmanuel M.11/13/2023About: Tatuaje Havana VI Verocu No. 5 Petite 4" * 40

Was not blown away by this one. Had an odd smell when burning and the texture felt very hard and had a synthetic feel.

Joseph W.09/08/2023About: Tatuaje Havana VI Verocu No. 4 Robusto 5"1/4 * 50

Dual red & white thin bands with silver foil accenting and cursive lettering, pretty sleek. The wrapper leaf is an impressively oily & soft suede, burnished chestnut leather. There's a triple cap which is a nice touch. Cold draw was cocoa and baking spices. Aroma of chocolate and cedar. Straight cut and a breeze of a light-up. Semi-constricted draw produced decent smoke volume. Flavor profile was oak, some clove, and a dash of pepper. The retrohale was turbinado brown sugar and sharp salt. The burn line was wavy and the ash stack was decent. At first ashing there was a solid cone left behind, clearly well constructed. The second third was a bit of a rodeo, the nicotine headrush came on and the flavor notes were chock full of hay and leather. Giddy up! The retrohale transformed into a salty yeast. At this point the draw felt choked as most drags required a double-puff. Into the final third there was raisin & date notes in the blend, and the salt from the retrohale moved into the finish. The burn needed assistance with a few touchups. Taking it past the bands it finished like a toasty bran muffin. Overall it was an alright experience. The word "Verocu" apparently is a slang Cuban word that means "ballsy", and that sums up the surprise headrush in the first third but it subsided. Worth the try but not exactly my style, a bit too much of a dry bread for me. The look and smell was more enjoyable than the actual session. Final smoke time was 75 minutes.

Sweet tobacco up front. Slightly earthy and dryer in the mid. Picks up roastier/toastier pepper and spice elements on retrohale. Slight runner about 1/3 of the way through, evened out. Draw firmer than I prefer. Decent smoke output. Medium to slightly full. Nice little flavor bomb.

Bought 2 to try. First one was beautiful. A little firm on the draw but had plenty of aged tobacco, deep earth and pepper. Went well paired with my morning coffee! Second one was plugged. Even using a perfecdraw didn't help. Couldn't keep it lit, kept going out and had no smoke output. I would try again with a bigger size. But I wouldn't purchase this size again.

This little stick of dynamite is my morning coffee smoke. I’m finished it before the cup of joe goes cold. Beautiful, dark wrapper with effortless draw. Light up is a mouthful of black pepper zing that falls away after a few draws to a woodsy, hay taste with lots of smoke for a little stick. I had to relight, my fault though. I’m writing this review as I smoke. Razor sharp, even burn. Ash is flaky and loose, dropping every 1/2” or so. Band was loose and peeled right off. Half way transition to sweet coffee taste, perfect with my black coffee. Very enjoyable smoke. I need to order more.

Cigar smokers in a hurry sometimes find themselves with a dilemma at hand -- try and race through a favorite stick at the expense of rushing the meant-to-be relaxing indulgence, chucking the literal piece of art halfway through, or alternatively, selecting from the stressfully small catalog of tasty, high quality cigars that won't consume more than a half hour of your precious time. Throughout the years, I've found myself constantly coming back to my favorite little smoke when I don't have too many minutes to burn: meet the Tatuaje Verocu No. 5. This petite cigar is made in Nicaragua by boutique giant Tatuaje, and is unbelievably delicious. Boasting a dark brown Ecuadorian Habano wrapper on top of premium Nicaraguan binder and filler, this medium-bodied long-filler beauty is made with the exact same benchmarks as its bigger brothers, and you will be hard-pressed to find another cigar that packs as much remarkable flavor into such a small package... particularly with the same expert construction and impeccable burn that normally is reserved for more, ahem, endowed examples. Rich notes of cocoa, coffee, leather, and just a splash of spice round out the experience, which is a delightfully convenient 25-30 minutes. If you don't believe the Tatuaje Verocu No.5 can be every bit as satisfying as a full-size stogie, I have 7 words for you: Don't knock it 'til you try it. You can thank me later!

Good little smoke, great flavor, taste. Only 10-15 min tops I think I prefer the exquisitos. Only because of the valu difference

A great shirt smoke

Stephen A.08/17/2018About: Tatuaje Havana VI Verocu No. 5 Petite 4" * 40

A good short smoke. The draw is ok. The taste is good but not complex. It is what you would expect in a medium cigar.

Nice little cigar with a big flavor. Not too heavy, but satisfying when you only have a half-hour or so. The flavors aren't overly complex, but enough there to keep it interesting.

Very well constructed. Perfect burn throughout. Meaty With a nice punch!

A nice little 30 minute stick. A light pleasent taste of herbs and coffee. Nice tight dark wrapper with a good draw. A good daily break smoke.

This is a perfect size cigar for me, and was a leisurely 40-minute smoke (surprising for its nice). Very full flavor, and as others have said, smoked like a “big cigar.” This may be one of my go-to cigars.

Dominick S.10/16/2017About: Tatuaje Havana VI Verocu No. 5 Petite 4" * 40

It's a little cigar that smokes like a big cigar

Aaron I.07/14/2017About: Tatuaje Havana VI Verocu No. 5 Petite 4" * 40

This is an excellent little cigar. It is pretty darn spicy and I turn to it when I want a pretty peppery stick. Like most Tatuajes I've tried, it still leaves the palate very clean.

Did not burn evenly. I didn’t care for the last or smell although it did get better past the half-way point. A little to spicy for me...won’t buy again.

Excellent 40-45 minute smoke. Very well constructed and good looking. Draw a shade on the firm side. Burn almost perfect. I purchased a box of 50 and would buy again.

David O.10/07/2016About: Tatuaje Havana VI Verocu No. 5 Petite 4" * 40

Well constructed, draw was ok but a little weak, burn was not even on this one. It could just be the one I smoked, but not my favorite for a small cigar

Medium Bodied, puro, great construction, smooth, medium draw with woody leather notes, hints of spice, good 40 minute smoke.

Karl S.06/11/2015About: Tatuaje Havana VI Verocu No. 5 Petite 4" * 40

I prefer the smaller cigars since i rarely like sitting somewhere for more than 30-40 minutes. This one was perfect. The amount of taste, the draw was great, it burned slower than you would think from the size and the burn was even. I will definitely be getting more....probably my new go to smoke.

Bruce C.05/14/2015About: Tatuaje Havana VI Verocu No. 5 Petite 4" * 40

Excellent burn and draw. Very good taste with light pepper and spice. I bought this cigar again. I got about 40 min. from this cigar down to a small nub.

Majed A.03/09/2015About: Tatuaje Havana VI Verocu No. 5 Petite 4" * 40

smooth, complex, and flawless cigar. good for go-to 30 min smoke. I recommend it.

Adam S.01/24/2015About: Tatuaje Havana VI Verocu No. 5 Petite 4" * 40

The Verocu No. 5 is a small cigar that thinks it is much larger. No draw issues, and no issues with lack luster flavor here. Upon light up, this cigar delivers plenty of nice, fairly complex , spicy (but in no way obnoxiously spicy) smoke that really makes you believe you are puffing on a much bigger vitola. Along with the Petite Reserve, the Verocu is one of my go to smokes, especially if I am in a hurry. You will get an average burn of 30 - 40 mins from this stick, depending on how aggressively you smoke it.

Anthony D.11/24/2014About: Tatuaje Havana VI Verocu No. 5 Petite 4" * 40

this has become my go-to cigar because of its consistency and flavor and convenient 30-45 minute size.

love these smaller ring gauge cigars. quality smoke with full flavor, consistent burn, always reliable from tatauje.

I tried this cigar on 6/28/12 for the first time and it was pretty good. The taste was okay and still have a little taste this morning not so okay. For a quick smoke this is the one!
