Created in mind for those who have served in the U.S. military (or simply those who wish to pay tribute to said heroes), the Warfighter Tobacco Company is owned and operated by combat veterans looking to give even more to their community. Originally based out of the Dominican Republic, Warfighter has now recently set up base at Plasencia's factory in Esteli, Nicaragua in order to "turn this thing up to 11", according to co-founder Chris Ferdico. Available with a maduro wrapper, the Warfighter .50 Cal Field boasts a rich and toasty full-body profile full of leather, earth and raisin for a bold and spicy smoke. Military background or not, this special premium cigar doesn't pull any punches in offering ANYONE a deeply satisfying - not to mention honorary - smoking experience.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Maduro wrapper can go from dark coffee brown with a reddish tint to blackish brown (the latter also called Oscuro).

Nicaraguan Habano
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Nicaraguan cigar wrappers are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Wrappers grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro wrappers are all produced in Nicaragua.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Good flavor from start to finish. Open draw, burned well (touch up 2 times), it is a short smoke about 30 minutes. I will order again. Flavors; leather, coco, all smooth, nothing sharp. It is a strong cigar - I liked the smoke.

The Warfighter Tobacco Company is owned and operated by combat veterans who love cigars so much, they decided to make some of their own! Blended in part by active member of the U.S. Army David Blanco (Blanco Cigars) and hailing from the Plasencia factory in Esteli, Nicaragua, this halfway rustic-looking .50 Cal Field Maduro takes no prisoners. Full-bodied and rich, I was instantly greeted with heavy notes of leather, and as the minutes passed, earth and even a hint of oatmeal showed face. The burn was decent; it started off a bit iffy but then corrected itself about an inch or two in. Towards the end, notes of cedar and nuts began to appear, making for a more neutral finish than how it began. The aroma that emitted from this cigar was exceptionally noticeable and pungent; musty, but still interestingly pleasant. I can imagine some folks perhaps finding it a bit intrusive, but that's not necessarily the target audience Warfighter is aiming for. They're looking for those who like it a bit rough. Those who will spit every other minute whilst smoking. Those who will have this cigar hanging from their mouth as they clean their gun. Those who don't mind fighting for what they believe in. And especially those who can do all of the above and still crave an excellent premium cigar. Pick this one up to show some support for those who've risked their lives for their country, and if you happen to be reading this and are active military or a veteran - Thank you, and enjoy. Cheers.
