La Duena by My Father

La Duena is a cigar blended by Jaime Garcia of My Father cigars and Pete Johnson of Tatuaje cigars. The cigar honors Janny Garcia, who along with her brother Jaime and her father Pepin, run the My Father Cigar company. La Duena means "The Owner" in Spanish. This medium bodied cigar is earthy and sweet with a good dose of spice.

About: La Duena Toro Gordo No.13 6" * 56
Perfect cigar all around, it quickly became my favorite after smoking 2 of these!
About: La Duena Toro Gordo No.13 6" * 56
La Duena is a " veiny stick that is earthy and spicy with touches of cedar and mint. Cinnamon-sugar sweet- ness and a touch of leather add complexity." However, the burn was not quite the expectation I had. I enjoyed the flavors, but for the price I was left wanting.

A great tasting cigar
About: La Duena Petit Robusto No.11 4"1/2 * 52
Was excited of course to smoke a new My Father cigar. The cigar starts off with a good deal of spiciness -- no surprise-- along with some earthy notes and creaminess. Into the second third, spice calms down a bit and earthiness and leather take over along with coffee notes. The spiciness definitely amps up again in the final third along with the earthiness. It's a medium smoke until the last third and then becomes a full body smoke-- full of flavor from beginning to end. The construction was good-- nice ash, no relights. The draw was a bit resistant for my taste so I did poke it once or twice. Overall a nice flavor packed smoke.
