The Alec Bradley brand has always had a very diverse catalog of options for smokers to choose from, but if there's perhaps one aspect that could have used a broadening, it was on the milder end of the spectrum. The Medalist is a throwback to the early days of Alec Bradley, when founder Alan Rubin first started out by selling affordable and mild cigars throughout the 1990s. Using a shade-grown Honduran wrapper on top of a Honduran binder and a Honduran and Nicaraguan filler combo, this light and naturally sweet cigar is also very affordable, making it perfect for any time of day, every day.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Honduras, a Central American country which shares a border with Nicaragua, is widely known in the premium cigar industry as the ideal place to grow Cuban and Connecticut seed tobaccos. Danli and the Jamastran Valley is considered the heart of Honduras’ cigar industry. The Jamastran Valley is known for producing a full-bodied tobacco that draws strong comparisons to the tobacco grown in the Pinar del Rio region of Cuba. This same region is also known for its Connecticut shade grown and Corojo shade grown tobacco. In addition, Honduras produces Cuban-seed sun grown filler tobaccos of the highest quality.

Not very complex before-lunch cigar. Quite boring taste but okay for its price. Perfect to newcsmokers i guess, with a good draw. Careful if you punch (like i do usuall), leafs are thin at some points and tend to tear, or crack if not moist enough. If yoy are unsure dip the end in water or firewater, if not available just suck a bit and wait for 5 mins.

Great looking sampler. Bought one and put it in humidor for 14 days to acclimate properly. However, all smokes didn't have proper QC done. Magic Toast had a cracked foot and multiple thick stick/veins causing draw and burn issues. Had to use perfecdraw way too many times in this while sampler due to same issue. Just disappointing to see AB let this happen.

Cigar looked decent but cracked in several places after lighting been at 65 rh for months and was mild where I smoked it so I don’t belive it was a storage issue. Burn was near perfect flavors were good but Wish they were more pronounced for my taste. I like a good Connecticut sometimes but this still fell short for me but would prob be great for a giveaway to non smokers or for new smokers discovering what they like. Normally bad construction is a deal breaker for me but at least the binder heals and it was smokeable with good burn line

First of all, my favorite size cigar is the toro gordo for length of smoke time, and feel. I’ve tried almost everyone out there and for the price, think the Medalist is exactly that. A true winner in taste, texture and burn from beginning to end. Love the medium blend and is enjoyable at any time, on the golf course, before and after dinner. I would say lunch but the wife frowns on me smoking early in the day at home ;) Give this Alec Bradley a try, don’t think you’ll be disappointed...

The Alec Bradley Medalist Toro consists of a Honduras wrapper with Honduras Binder and mix of Hondura and Nicaragua Filler. This cigar has a nice soft light wrapper it may look like a Connecticut with some oil to be found, while veins are small and generally few. The foot offers a seeming plethora of aromas to dissect, from buttered popcorn to a bit of tangerine, cereal grains to vanilla ice cream, all accented by just a bit of pepper. The cold draw is firm but not challenging, with a base note of dinner rolls and fewer accents than that of the aroma, with a bit of wood, cream and just a pinch of pepper being most notable. The strength begins to taper off past the midpoint, though it’s not lacking in any flavor or body, as both are comfortably a bit under medium, now with a bit of cedar and ballpark pretzels leading the descriptors. The cigar turns a bit rough in the final inch, but overall the cigar finishes well and on a flavor and strength level just under medium. Overall this is a great cigar with tons of flavors to it. Alec Bradley did it again.

I just received the Sampler. The delivery was very fast from Neptune and the web page is excelent. BUT: with the sampler didn´t come the Prensado and the Maxx like says the description of the product. With the sampler came: Conneticut, Tempus, Family Blend The Linage, Nica Puro, American and Black Market. The lighter is very good quality.
