The Alec Bradley Prensado was named the #1 Best Cigar of 2011 by Cigar Aficionado. Launched in 2009, this highly acclaimed box pressed cigar is made at the Raices Cubanas factory in Danli, Honduras. Beautifully made, the cigar has a Trojes, Honduras wrapper with Nicaraguan binder and Honduran and Nicaraguan fillers. The Prensado offers you rich tobacco flavor with leather, chocolate and spice in the mix.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Honduras, a Central American country which shares a border with Nicaragua, is widely known in the premium cigar industry as the ideal place to grow Cuban and Connecticut seed tobaccos. Danli and the Jamastran Valley is considered the heart of Honduras’ cigar industry. The Jamastran Valley is known for producing a full-bodied tobacco that draws strong comparisons to the tobacco grown in the Pinar del Rio region of Cuba. This same region is also known for its Connecticut shade grown and Corojo shade grown tobacco. In addition, Honduras produces Cuban-seed sun grown filler tobaccos of the highest quality.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Maduro wrapper can go from dark coffee brown with a reddish tint to blackish brown (the latter also called Oscuro).

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Honduran cigar wrapper has the reputation of great quality, with wrapper leaf being grown in the Jamastran, Talanga and San Agustin valleys. Some of the wrappers being grown in Honduras include Corojo, Honduran Claro, Honduran Criollo, Honduran Jamastran Viso Rosado, Honduran San Agustin Havana Seed and San Agustin Ligero.

Nicaragua
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Notes of cocoa, spice, and earthy undertones that really stood out. I faced some challenges with an uneven burn, which resulted in frequent relights throughout the smoke. While the construction issues were a bit frustrating, the bold flavors kept me engaged. Overall, despite the burn problems, I found the Prensado to be a nice cigar but I probably won’t try again

I have never been disappointed with anything AB I have tried. The Prensado is no exception! I really enjoyed this cigar. It's rated as a full, but I would say it's more of a medium to medium full. It's a nice looking cigar and the Robusto had a good draw and burned really well. I enjoyed the taste, as I always do with any AB I have had.

Great looking sampler. Bought one and put it in humidor for 14 days to acclimate properly. However, all smokes didn't have proper QC done. Magic Toast had a cracked foot and multiple thick stick/veins causing draw and burn issues. Had to use perfecdraw way too many times in this while sampler due to same issue. Just disappointing to see AB let this happen.

Not too sure how the ratings on this cigar are so low .. amazing stick, easy draw, flavor bomb with nutty notes, little bit of pepper and a small sweet finish. Produces a great aroma also and can ash quite a bit .. big smoke output too which I love. Great cigar

Compared to the Oliva Serie 5 Torpedo's with the exact same rating, which I do smoke, this cigar is a "don't bother'

Ive have constantly had these Cigars in my humidor - and each and every session has been a luxurious smoking experience. ...this last box is still "fresh" though and will require some aging.

Beautiful dark box-pressed torpedo. The aroma was incredibly perfumed - almost sweet. Lots of toasty graham-cracker flavor -- not tons of depth, but quite delicious, frankly. Almost down to the nub, but got a bit hot at the end. For the price, this is a nice stick and I likely will buy and store a few more. Well played.

Selected this Alec Bradley Prensado Churchill out of the humi after a month resting. It has a light brown Colorado color with veiny, slightly box-pressed wrapper. After straight cut at the top of the shoulder it gives comfortable pre-light draw with flavors of chocolate and fruity tobacco. Early draws of excellent leathery depth disturbed by chalkiness. Very good flavor changes but chalk interrupts the conversation too loudly and too frequently. Pleasant draw produces moderate smoke volume. Welcome light spiciness alternates with the leather and coffee party; almonds on the fringe. Want the deeper flavors to stay longer when they appear then fade yet remain interesting. Excellent construction, solid draw whose burn never needs another flame even with up to 4 minutes between pulls. Praise may be faint because of comparison to a memory of stellar taste experience from some of these in 2012. Still, very good all around.

Delicious, medium-full flavor. Qu1ite enjoyable. The only flaw is that it burned very unevenly despite attempts to straighten it out. (This is, of course, statistically invalid as I only bought one stick, so your experience may vary.)

I had one from a sampler a long time ago. Since then I have looked at deals where you buy a box of something and they r in a fiver of AB Prensados. I now have 20 AB Prensados that only cost me maybe 20 bucks. These beauties take their place next to my Prietos, Padrons, ManO war Ruinations, Quatro F55s and Liga Privada #9s. A humidor just for these robustos only. The AB Prensado is a great full smoke that has manners and for the price, is a steal. Don't let box press scare you, they work well. Keep some in your humi.

It has been a very long time since I have smoked the Prensado , so decided to refresh my memory. I chose this beautiful torpedo shape-- goes along with the nice box pressed body. This cigar upon first light explodes with spice/pepper. Slowly leather and cedar come into play. Into the 2nd third, mostly pepper and cedar combine with a bit of coffee. Into the last third, the cigar becomes more creamy and the spice definitely subsides. Coffee and dark chocolate notes finish off the cigar. Overall, except for the very beginning, the cigar was smooth with nice flavor combinations. Not very complex, but enjoyable. I had no issues with the construction at all. This cigar is med/ full in both strength and body. I recommend trying this for sure!

Being my first dabble into the world of Alec Bradley cigars I was, as I am with every new brand I smoke, both excited and sceptical at the same time. But with it being recommended to me by a fellow friend and employee here at Neptune (Rene) I knew it would be a hit with me. Great foot note scent of sweet leather and a slight coco which continued well throughout this very consistent and even burning cigar. Great after notes of oak and earth take presence as this amazingly constructed stick begins to heat up in the second third becoming a fairly complex and exciting cigar to smoke as you can't quite anticipate what flavor to to take prominence in the next draw. With having an amazingly cool smooth smoke all the way through I smoked this cigar all the way till the very end leaving almost only a burnt piece of ash in the tray. Very much so a must have in your humidor or at least give it a try when you visit you local cigar shop!

The crowned winner of 2011. The Alec Bradley Prenaado Churchill is a 7 x 48. This beautiful cigar comes with an elegant label to contrast the dark corojo wrapper. The box press makes this Churchill stand out as a luxurious smoke. My cigar had an even burn, quality construction, consistent of the Alec Bradley brand. I could see why this cigar had at one time a 96 rating on cigar aficionado. This stick I think is aged perfectly producing a robust full body smoke. And for being aged 9 years, I could still note a subtle spice to the wrapper overpowering the underlying woody and earthy notes. Pair this beautiful cigar with a your preferred single malt and give it a go.

This cigar certainly deserves its reputation as one of the finest! It presented wonderful leathery flavors that remained smooth and rich from beginning to end. There was no harshness or bitterness to it at all, and no pepper or spiciness. I know it's listed as "full strength", but I'd place it on the mild side of medium. The burn was a little problematic with a couple of needed touch-ups, but that was a minimal distraction from the overall experience. As soon as I can make room in my humidor, I'm gonna get a box of these!

I just received the Sampler. The delivery was very fast from Neptune and the web page is excelent. BUT: with the sampler didn´t come the Prensado and the Maxx like says the description of the product. With the sampler came: Conneticut, Tempus, Family Blend The Linage, Nica Puro, American and Black Market. The lighter is very good quality.

I picked this cigar up at my local B&M based on the store owners recommendation. The draw was excellent, that produced plenty of thick smoke. The flavors were nice with pepper being the strongest one I could pick up. The smoke did leave a gritty feel in my mouth though. My only issue with this cigar was the burn. I could not get this cigar to burn evenly no matter how many times I tried to touch it up. At one point I had an 1-1/2" difference of burn around the cigar. I probably wouldn't pick it up again unless it was on sale.

What a great smoke!! I bought the 6 stick gift box because the price was nice. I also wanted to see what the pro's use as one of the few standards to reach this rating. It tasted and smelled excellent. It is very complex in flavor with a long and even burn. It had my attention for the entire hour and half it took to caox it to a nub. You have to try this one.

At first sight this is one of the most attractive cigars I’ve come across, it’s rocking a beautiful dark oily wrapper and the label is simply gorgeous. As far as flavor goes it has an explosion of spice and pepper but immediately cools off and develops into a smooth rich tasting cigar… I would definitely smoke this cigar again.
