Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Maduro
Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Maduro wrapper can go from dark coffee brown with a reddish tint to blackish brown (the latter also called Oscuro).
Wrapper
Mexican
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Mexican tobacco is very dark and the best leaves can be used as maduro wrappers. In San Andres de Tuxtla (in the state of Vera Cruz), there is a very interesting production of Sumatra seed wrappers. Dark air cured tobaccos are produced in Mexico, mainly in Vera Cruz and Tampico provinces, on the East Coast along the Gulf. There is also some production in Yucatan. Mexico's volcanic soil yields tobacco that is spicy and earthy, with a very distinctive flavor.
Binder
Nicaragua
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.

Oliva Cigar Co.
Oliva Cigar Company is Nicaragua's second largest grower of tobacco and one of the largest cigarmakers in the world. It all started in 1886 when Melanio Oliva first grew tobacco in Cuba. In 1995, his grandson Gilberto Oliva would launch the Oliva cigar brand, produced in Esteli, Nicaragua. The company's flagship brand, Oliva Serie V, has obtained some of the highest ratings in cigar publications worldwide. Their cigars use mostly tobacco harvested by the company in their various farms in Nicaragua.

Well made hand rolled stick. The draw was a little tight but enjoyable. Two of the sticks side burned a little but i was out side in the wind. The aroma’s were satisfying and traditional. Second hand aroma was pleasing to my wife. The tastes ranged from mild to a noticeable bite and mild after taste. I really enjoyed this sampler box.

Never have I ever had a 6x60 with this much smoothness and open draw. Smokes like 6x46. As a major fan of a smoke with an easy draw and lots of flavor, yet still smooth, this is #1 for a cigar of its size. The only 6x60 that will forever remain in my humidor.

This stick had everything I look for in a maduro smoke. Semisweet cocoa, earthy, and slightly spicy flavors, smooth to the band, even creaminess that I didn’t expect. Strength was nearly full so enjoy on a full stomach. A lovely experience. Needed a touch up but otherwise nearly perfect for me in a maduro experience. Better than nearly any other maduro I’ve had including the pricier ones. Well worth it!

For me, a step above the Cain F. Not a very handsome cigar as it was laden with veins and obvious seams. Texture was rough, somewhat oily and a dark blotched chocolate color. Ash clung to cigar for almost 2 inches and was a distinct white color. Lots of smoke and a noticable charred oak flavor which remained for the entire smoke. Did not noticably change in flavor throughout the cigar but quite acceptable! Beautiful aroma and a cigar worth purchasing again.

Powerhouse stick! Looked like a single cap so I punched it. Gave me a tight draw so I v cut it and it was perfect. Razor sharp burn. Set it down for five minutes and it still puffed easily. Flavors are big bold tobacco. Strong. Earthy, peppery and oily leather. Transitions weren't super noticeable. Became more peppery and oil as it burned down. Definitely bit the tongue by the end. Stout stick. Enjoy with decaf or some cask strength. Will purchase again.

These are a good value for the price. The cigars are well-constructed and burn evenly. I haven't yet had to touch up a single one. The flavors are good and complex as promised, but not consistent. The Cain Maduro is a solid consistent smoke. Nice construction, wrapper, smoke, aroma, and flavors. Cain Habano also very good but the Maduro never fails. If you prefer full bodied flavor you will enjoy this one!

It doesn't get much better than this. Beautiful wrapper, dark and oily. After several months in the humidor On a warm morning I lit this up. I always hear many adjectives describing cigars. The one that kept coming to me was Sparkling. The first draw was just Sparkling. It was a joy from start to finish. A truly wonderful cigar indeed.

Have yet to hav a bad Cain Maduro. I usually opt for a larger ring gauge, but wanted to try something a little different. Still one of my favorite cigars along with the 601 Maduro.

Great smoke but it is a ligero which is the strongest part of the tobacco leaf. If you are not use to smoking strong flavored cigars it might make you light headed. But it is a great smoke for the cigar aficionados out there
