Based in the USA, the Parodi by Avanti cigar brand is known for making distinctively shaped cigars with a bold taste. The cigars are medium in strength and use a USA Kentucky fire-cured maduro wrapper and USA tobacco filler. They are rolled without a binder. Using a fire-cured method means that the cigars require little if any humidification. The name Parodi is a tribute to a cigar company that was owned by the Parodi family, which was a competitor. The Avanti Cigar Company (then known as the State Leaf Company) purchased the company in 1925.

Production of cigars in the United States, once a thriving industry, is now mainly machine made cigars. They are still being produced in the last remaining cigar factory from the 1890s, the JC Newman Cigar factory in Tampa. However, in recent years boutique brands have flourished and are being handmade by select rollers in Miami, Florida.

Parodi Kings is a great outdoor smoke, especially when there's little time to smoke. I have been smoking Parodi's since the 1960's. 100 Per cent American; fire-cured goodness you can take anywhere. The trick is lighting - light it and take a puff, and the wait about a half minute. These Parodi Kings are misunderstood for that reason. Great outdoors! 20-minute smoke so sweet but without sweeteners. I love 'em!

I'm a person who likes spicy, full, kicked-in-the-face-by-a-mule type of cigars. These aren't at that spectrum, but for the price, they're real decent. In the past 3 months, I've ordered and gone through about 400 of these. If you like Fire-cured tobacco or cheroots in general, this is an excellent small cigar for about 20-30 minutes. They're ugly as sin, but that's part of the appeal to me. I've found the smell more appealing to others since it smells more like a nearby forest fire than your traditional cigar smell (which you and I love, but your wife might not). The only thing that holds these little guys from being perfect is that the quality control from Avanti could be better. If you're picking up the box of 50, you should discard at least 1 cigar from each box. When the wrappers on these guys has a crack, it gets real hard to get a good draw out of them. Otherwise, I like the taste, I like the price, and I've always been a fan of that burning wood smell.

These are fragrant and really wonderful. Apparently don't need to be kept humid so I've just been running around with them in my pocket. The aroma is something akin to firing up the grill for smoking some BBQ. They're a little unsightly, kind of look like shriveled mummy fingers. Despite the appearance I'm very likely going to make them a regular staple for my hobby.

Parodis were the first cigar I ever smoked. I bought a box of five Parodi Kings in a drug store, an impulse buy fueled by both being half in the bag at the time and my love of old westerns. I liked their gnarly looks, the sweet tobacco crust on the outside and their woodsy smoke. Thirty years later I still love those same qualities, but I’ve switched to Ammezzatis solely for time constraints. At three-and-a-half inches long the Ammezzati offers a brisk twenty-five-minute smoke, and they’re just as tasty as the Kings. They smell of campfires on a cold night, and offer a satisfying, easy smoking experience. There’s no need to tend to these little devils once lit; they smolder on their own thanks to the open foot. (Ocasionally you get one that has holes or gaps inside; just snap it in half and smoke the better-constructed end.) For the full Parodi experience, retrohale them to enjoy their mildly spicy smoke.

You can always rely on a Parodi not falling apart on you and the King sytle keeps that tradition going. I would actually say it has a more medium smoke vs. the strength gauge. Not much taste or aroma, but a solid smoke that is properly priced.

Really high nicotine in case you’re sensitive there’s your warning. There’s no taste or aroma just pure fire cured almost charcoal and mesquite like smell and taste from light up to the end. Will take a solid 45 mins to smoke out.

These are the cigars Clint Eastwood smoked in the “Dollars Trilogy” films. I read that he didn't really like them, after smoking several a day during filming, so I had to try them. They burn strong, despite the strength being rated as medium. On the plus side they are one of the hardiest cigars I've ever smoked. If you want a cigar you can gnaw on for most of the day this is it!

These are great little smokes as long as they're not broken. I've received several of them with holes, or cracks. I probably won't get anymore considering the cost since I need to throw so many out.
