Handmade by the legendary Drew Estate in Esteli, Nicaragua, the Deadwood Sweet Jane features a rough, rustic look along with a peculiar name and outlandish packaging, but don't dare dismiss her as anything other than serious. Covered in a dark and oily Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper along with premium Nicaraguan binder and filler, this medium to full-bodied cigar emits an aroma akin to pipe tobacco while exhibiting smooth earthy notes of mocha and leather with a perfect touch of spice. Don't let her tough exterior intimidate you - this gal is here to please.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

USA Connecticut Broadleaf
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Connecticut Broadleaf is grown in the United States' Connecticut Valley and is prized for its dark, oily, full flavored and aromatic characteristics. The plants are grown in full sun giving this cigar wrapper its characteristic sweetness. The Connecticut Broadleaf plant leaves are mainly processed as maduro tobacco. Today, Connecticut Broadleaf seeds are being grown in other countries besides the United States.
Binder
Nicaragua
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Carlos Espinoza Are these cigars dipped in cognac? If not which ones are? I’ve smoke some before that were dipped in cognac and I haven’t been able to find them.

Kicking off spooky season, I decided to start October with the Día de los Muertos cigar—a fitting nod to the meaning behind the holiday. Día de los Muertos, celebrated November 1st and 2nd, is a deeply rooted tradition in Hispanic culture that honors and remembers loved ones who have passed while celebrating the beauty of life and the natural cycle of death. That sentiment really sets the tone for this smoke—it feels like a small, thoughtful tribute as the seasons shift. As for the cigar itself, the tip is sweetened all the way through, which gives off a candy-like vibe that fits the Halloween mood, though it’s not quite my preference. The sweetness can be a bit much, but once you move past it, the flavors open up beautifully. Rich leathery and black pepper notes lead the way, blending into hints of baking spice and finishing with a smooth touch of vanilla. It’s a balanced mix of sweet, earthy, and spicy that feels right for this time of year. The box-pressed shape is a nice touch too—comfortable in the hand and easy to enjoy.

First time commenting on a cigar ever so take what I say with a grain of salt. This has become my favorite. I love the smell, the taste, they look good too. I’m not sure if they did something different from their regular sweet Jane’s but I love these so much I bought a full box of them. If they come around next year I’ll buy another one.

I’ve never been a fan of flavored cigars or ones with a sweetened tip. But every now and then I like to venture outside my smoking zone. So! I tried the Deadwood Sweet Jane Dia de los Muertos cigar. This unique and flavorful smoke provided a bold and playful twist that was surprisingly enjoyable I must say. The cigar featured a rich USA Connecticut Broadleaf maduro wrapper, prior to lighting I picked up a delightful chocolatey aroma off the foot. Upon lighting, I was greeted with a burst of sweetness that was set off by earthy and chocolatey notes and hints of spice. Once I got past the sweet spot, the flavor profile stayed pretty consistent throughout with a prominent tobacco aroma. Overall, this painted lady offered a pleasing, medium-bodied experience with a smooth draw. The construction was excellent, and the cigar had a slow, even burn and produced a near white ash. This popular smoke is perfect for those who enjoy sweet, aromatic cigars with a distinctive flair. Pair it with a ginger ale or seltzer water with a twist of lime to contrast the tip’s sweetness. Smoke it while remembering and honoring family and friends who have passed on.

Maybe a bit too much smoke coming from the foot of the cigar! Haha but otherwise a decent smoke. The first third was so good, chocolate bomb. The 2nd and final third were meh, more dark tobacco, black coffee, leather notes. Sweetness died down a lot. Great construction though, with a ton of sweet aromas. Probably wouldn't revisit these, I'm interested in trying the cigarillos though.

I wish I could lie and only write bad things that way there’s always stock for me to buy but I can’t say a single bad thing. The aroma and taste are out of this world and very unique. If you’re not a fan of sweet tips and pipe tobacco taste you may want to steer a different direction but honestly I’ve never found a person I recommended these to that didn’t fall in love with them.

I bought some of the smaller 4x3 tins and loved those, so I took a chance on the larger box of 5x46’s. Love the sweet taste and aroma but the draw was tough and burn uneven. Hopefully they’ll be better once I get them into my humidor at the proper humidity level. Hard to find. That’s for sure!

Just not for me. The sweetened tip was WAY to sweet for me. The other flavor notes were ok but over shadowed. If you like “sweet tea” give it a try. I like my iced tea unsweetened. God draw and burn lots of smoke.

The sweet smell came though the cellophane. Good construction. The wrapper tastes a little sweet. It has a nice draw. The sweetness of the cigar stays well into the 2/3 and beyond. Not a sicking sweetness, but a pleasant one. It goes very well with a iced coffee. The aroma from the smoke is also pleasant. Personally, I find it a little short.

This is a very interesting cigar. Has a nice appearance and the dry aroma coming off of this bad boy is amazing. Smells like I just opened a bag of Hershey’s chocolate chips! Dry draw is brownie batter. I mean, I don’t smoke flavored cigars, but this is off to a good start. As I got into it, I realized that it’s pretty difficult to differentiate what flavors are coming from what, but one thing is for sure... the wrapper carries the majority of the flavor with the sweet tip. I feel without the sweet tip the tobacco had a simple profile or straight tobacco, some earth and pepper/leather. The smoke session was enjoyable, but I’m going to chalk this one up to a one and done. Flavored cigars aren’t my deal, but I wanted to try it out.

I actually liked this cigar. There’s a sweet cap on this cigar which combines the flavor of the smoke to give it that chocolatey taste. Overall I think this is a great cigar for those who are just getting into cigars and for those who enjoy a sweet head on the cigar.

I've smoked the Tatascan Habaono and the Asylum Insidious Robusto. Both have a sweet tip, but nothing compares to the draw and smoothness of this cigar. I wouldn't kick either of the two out of bed, but the Sweet Jane is my go to cigar. Great taste and just an all around amazing smoke.
