Christian Eiroa wowed the cigar world last year with the release of his First 20 Years line, and now he has added another iteration for everyone to sink their teeth into, the First 20 Years Colorado. This box-pressed Honduran cigar comes with a Corojo leaf aged for a minimum of 5 years, giving it the reddish color for which it's named. Medium to full bodied, one can expect a toasty, earthy, peppery smoke from this version. Another worthy addition to the CLE legacy.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Honduras, a Central American country which shares a border with Nicaragua, is widely known in the premium cigar industry as the ideal place to grow Cuban and Connecticut seed tobaccos. Danli and the Jamastran Valley is considered the heart of Honduras’ cigar industry. The Jamastran Valley is known for producing a full-bodied tobacco that draws strong comparisons to the tobacco grown in the Pinar del Rio region of Cuba. This same region is also known for its Connecticut shade grown and Corojo shade grown tobacco. In addition, Honduras produces Cuban-seed sun grown filler tobaccos of the highest quality.

Some of the wrappers being grown in Honduras include Corojo, Honduran Claro, Honduran Criollo, Honduran Jamastran Viso Rosado, Honduran San Agustin Havana Seed and San Agustin Ligero.

Christian Eiroa and his brand are always releasing quality cigars, and the First 20 Years Colorado Robusto is another one to add to the list. This cigar was released a few years ago, but it's one that I've always wanted to try and I finally got around to it. I'm glad I did. With a very nice Colorado wrapper and 100% Honduran tobaccos, the First 20 Colorado is medium bodied and smooth. Right after lighting I got a nice toasty note, with a small amount of spice. Not overbearing at all though. The burn was perfect, and the draw was excellent. Good aroma on this one, and the toasty note became more pronounced as time went on, almost like warm bread. Not much spice lingered after the initial first inch, and I like the sharp box pressed construction. I detected some nutty earthiness during smoking too. Overall, the First 20 Years Colorado is a great cigar that people looking to try a good puro blend can turn to with confidence. If you are looking for some of Honduras finest, well, you've found it.

These were the perfect 20 minute cigar. It's tough fining a smaller cigar that smokes with the power of a much bigger cigar and stays smooth, but these did it. Lots of flavor packed into this one.

Very light colored wrapper, very good draw and even burn, but the problem is the taste. There is almost no taste, except a tiny char. I smoked half box and still find them to be super mild body. Maybe because the tobacco is aged for 20 years?
