The Aging Room Rare Collection is not only a masterful collaboration of two cigar industry greats but a refreshing reunion. In the past, Rafael Nodal and AJ Fernandez have worked in concert to produce memorable and noteworthy cigars. This time they got together to create a series of premium cigars that use rare and well-aged tobaccos. The blends and cigars produced in this must-have collection will be available for a limited time.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Colorado
Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Colorado is a medium brown color also known as EMS or English Market Selection as this used to be the color with more popularity in England than in America.
Wrapper
Nicaraguan
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Nicaraguan cigar wrappers are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Wrappers grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro wrappers are all produced in Nicaragua.

Nicaragua
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.

The Aging Room Rare Collection Festivo is just another reason why Aging Room keeps impressing me. I was expecting the usual chocolate, cedar, and pepper profile, but this one surprised me right from the first few puffs. Salted butter and buttered popcorn were the first flavors that came to mind, followed by cedar, a touch of coffee, and some gentle baking spices. It was different, and in a very good way. I can't say for sure, but I wonder if the rare Pelo de Oro in the blend has something to do with that unique character. From there, it stayed creamy all the way through, with a savory note that really hit the spot. The draw and smoke output were excellent. The burn needed a couple of quick touch-ups, but nothing worth complaining about. By the final third, the retrohale picked up more pepper, adding just enough spice to wake the palate without taking away from the cigar's smoothness. Rafael Nodal and AJ Fernandez have definitely delivered another one that’s going into my favorites.

Started so medium it was almost bland but picked up in intensity and flavor as I smoked through it. The burn needed a couple touch ups but a nice draw and plume. Long on the finish. Fairly quick smoke but enjoyable overall.

I was blown away by this one. Very complex, so many different notes come and go. Earth and sweetness dominate, but you get wood, pepper, a little chocolate, just so many flavors. Expensive, but a nice experience.
