To develop the blend for the Circle of Life cigar, Rick Rodriguez (founder of the West Tampa Tobacco Co) tapped on the shoulders of his long-time mentor Ernesto Perez-Carrillo. When starting out in the cigar industry, Rick learned everything he could about tobacco and cigars from Ernesto. According to Rick, “...reuniting with Ernesto on Circle of Life was an opportunity to connect with my past and lay another brick in my future.” The cigar’s name subtly references the life-long bonds that are formed in the industry as well as with consumers of premium cigars. The Circle of Life cigar features a dark, smooth maduro wrapper and is made of leaves of undisclosed origins. It offers a flavorful, medium-bodied smoking experience that’s perfect for an evening of reminiscing with old friends.

The Dominican Republic is the world's first producer of cigars. Most factories are located in Santiago, in the center of the island, and in close proximity to the tobacco fields grown in the fertile Cibao Valley. While tobacco and cigars have always traditionally been produced in the Dominican Republic, many Cuban cigar makers established in the Dominican Republic after the Cuban communist revolution, elevating the quality of Dominican cigars.

When I looked at this cigar, I said to myself that it was a rough looking stick. When I fired it up, I was pleasantly surprised that it was living up to the hype. It’s a great smoke medium strength and full of flavors in my opinion. I will be getting more of these.

This cigar definitely has the looks and appeal to any cigar smoker. Great collaboration between 2 awesome cigar makers. The robusto is strong with spice and earth with tobacco richness. Lots of smoke output with a V or crown cut. Best paired with something sweet like a rum & coke or bourbon & coke. Overall nice cigar but it is strong for its size.
