The Perdomo Double Aged 12 Year Maduro is the third and final release of their 2014 Limited Edition cigars, with only 2500 boxes made of each of the 4 sizes. This rich, chocolate colored smoke will delight fans of Maduro wrappers, with its excellent construction and draw, and its bourbon barrel-aged maduro wrapper. Dark chocolate and espresso notes can be tasted throughout the smoke.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Maduro wrapper can go from dark coffee brown with a reddish tint to blackish brown (the latter also called Oscuro).

Nicaraguan Maduro
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Nicaraguan cigar wrappers are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Wrappers grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro wrappers are all produced in Nicaragua.

Nicaragua
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Tried one of these in my local cigar lounge and haven't seen them since. Love the medium to full bodied depth of flavor this 12 year double aged stick brings. I enjoy a full bodied cigar and this brings enough strength with flavor to keep me interested. Neptune packages their version of an 8 pack of these, nicely done!

The Perdomo Double-Aged Maduro in Churchill is an elegant cigar in look, feel, and flavor. It starts off with classic Maduro sweetness of molasses and orange marmalade, adding rustic notes of charred oak and grain. I find it "chewy", meaning a mouthful of flavor between puffs. The first third is well balanced and rich. Perdomo cigars seem to hit their stride in the middle. This one intensifies all the initial flavors, which is more of a good thing. The final third become less nuanced but remains hearty. Easily an hour and a half of smoke time with excellent draw and burn performance all the way.

Perdomo is not getting the respect it deserves and this cigar should be getting lots of praise. I am a big fan of the 20th anniversary maduro but this cigar is even "classier" shall I say. Eventful but not overpowering. Great flavor including coffee and just a slight hint of pepper. Great construction and burned impeccably. I will buy again many times.

I tried this cigar on a recent trip to Disney World, Florida. I'm a big Perdomo fan and this cigar delivered nicely. Robust leathery flavors with a mild natural tobacco sweetness complimented the perfect draw and a good, but not perfect, burn. I found this cigar to be on the low side of medium in strength, and a solid medium in body. While I really enjoyed this cigar, my personal preference remains for the 12 year Sungrown. Now... back to Disney... we all know how hard it is to find a nice place to enjoy a cigar nowadays. Next time you're in the neighborhood, head to the Disney Boardwalk resort. There is a designated smoke-friendly area right on the waterfront with a lovely view, benches and only a few feet away from snacks and drinks. Bonus: if you go there later in the evening, there's a good chance you won't have to share with stinky cigarette smokers and you can even see the fireworks over Epcot.

Flawless construction makes this a beautiful addition to any humidor. Rich bouquet with a hint of the spice to come. Easy draw and perfect burn throughout. Full bodied flavours of leather and coffee stimulate the palate and make this a very special, must try cigar.

This cigar was very disappointing. It was flat out dull. It drew perfectly, but flavor was seriously lacking. And I love Perdomo cigars. I have several versions in my humidor.

Great cigar after I learned proper cut. First one I smoked cut too much off and draw as terrible, lasted about 30 minutes. Next one cut off very little and slightly adjusted cut prior to lighting. Cigar lasted over an hour, draw, burn and flavor was superb! Can't wait to order again.

Perdomo's third release of the Double Aged Vintage line is a beautiful maduro cigar. The dark wrapper gives it a chocolaty appearace. At first light it is just awesome; a flavor bomb with light sweetness and a chocolate complexity. The cigar burned evenly the whole time, ashing only when told. The second third the sweetness is still there but notes of cedar enter my pallet and the burn is still even. The finish is smooth with a sweet complexity. This cigar is comes highly recommended and I cannot wait for my next one! Should definitely pass by and pick one up for a try.
