Handmade in Miami, Florida, the Aganorsa Leaf Validacion (formerly known as Casa Fernandez Aganorsa) Maduro is a full-strength, flavorful premium cigar. It sports a dark, sweet Mexican San Andres maduro wrapper that covers a binder and filler made of premium Nicaraguan tobaccos. This potent stick is perfect for the experienced cigar lover. The cigars undergo a rigorous quality control process before they are finally released. They call it “validacion,” which is Spanish for validation or validating.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Maduro wrapper can go from dark coffee brown with a reddish tint to blackish brown (the latter also called Oscuro).

Mexican San Andres Maduro
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Mexican tobacco is very dark and the best leaves can be used as maduro wrappers. San Andres Maduro is a thick, medium bodied dark leaf, also called San Andres Morron. Like Connecticut Broadleaf, San Andres Maduro is stalk cut and used for binder and wrapper.

Nicaragua
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.

This cigar could easily be the perfect Maduro if the draw and burn were good. Flavor is outstanding and changes with every pull. Really impressed with the flavor, aroma and quality. I will give it another chance. Aroma: earthy tobacco and cream. Dense. Virgin draw: cream, chocolate and earthy tobacco. First third: Maduro earth, cream, very mild pepper and milk chocolate. Retro is earthy tobacco. Goes well with coffee and a stout bourbon. Preferably barrel strength rye. Half: coffee, earth and cedar. It changed big time and the finish is more dry instead of dense. The retro is still mild pepper with spices and earth. For the price, I am impressed thus far. Towards the dead middle of the cigar, the creaminess starts to come back, and the aroma almost becomes a creamy, maple syrup. This thing changes almost constantly. I am now getting some dark fruits and dark coffee. Final: had to re-light again and the flavor was still pretty good and still the same. Have to give this another try and hope the next stick, is not as tight.

The San Andrés wrapper really takes the blend of Corojo and Criollo to another level with the dark sweetness, barnyard, earth, coffee, and chocolate with just enough pepper to balance things.

Tight construction with a slightly tight draw I opened up some with the help of a poker. Even burn with no touchups needed. Medium to full bodied, toothy and leathery with some hints of cedar, black coffee and warm spices.
