Decided to try this "staff pick" from Shelly. Another winner. Beautiful construction, flawless burn and wrapper. Good flavor, balanced strength. Lots of espresso up front with a black pepper finish.

I was super excited to smoke the El Borracho Maduro because I really enjoy the original Borracho!! This cigar is made by Dapper Cigar Company. The maduro version was added to its original El Borracho in 2018. This cigar has Nicaraguan binder and filler along with a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. Upon first light, a very unique smokey flavor is upfront (which I happen to love) followed by earthy and woody notes. The cigar is pretty much medium to medium plus at this point. Into the second third, Some nice chocolate notes appear. There is also a slight sweetness swirling around. The final third ends in notes of pepper, woody and earthy. Chocolate notes also sneak in at the very end. Strength, body and flavor all end up to be medium to medium full. Construction throughout was spot on! Even though this cigar was amped up from the original Borracho by adding more Nicaraguan Ligero, it is very smooth and any type of smoker can enjoy!! Definitely a must try.
