CLE Connecticut is a fantastic Connecticut wrapped cigar, one that will satisfy the smoker looking for a mild to medium, yet very flavorful with a hefty body. The binder and filler are Honduran. The cigar is made by Christian Eiroa in the Aladino factory in Danli, Honduras.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Honduras, a Central American country which shares a border with Nicaragua, is widely known in the premium cigar industry as the ideal place to grow Cuban and Connecticut seed tobaccos. Danli and the Jamastran Valley is considered the heart of Honduras’ cigar industry. The Jamastran Valley is known for producing a full-bodied tobacco that draws strong comparisons to the tobacco grown in the Pinar del Rio region of Cuba. This same region is also known for its Connecticut shade grown and Corojo shade grown tobacco. In addition, Honduras produces Cuban-seed sun grown filler tobaccos of the highest quality.

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Ecuador is the perfect place to grow wrappers, because it is located on the Equator! And it has rich soils too. The weather conditions, with a nearly permanent cloudy sky, provide a natural shade, protecting the wrapper plants from sunshine and allowing the tobacco to grow thin and light. This climate allows tobacco growers to grow Connecticut-seed wrapper in the shade without shade cloths, resulting in more economical wrapper.

Received 1 CLE CONNECTICUT with an Asylum sampler and threw it in the humidor and forgot about it. Connecticuts are usually too mild, the hay an earth usually don't appeal to me but when I finally smoked this stick, I lt was not like any I've had before. 1st off,, the construction is top notch,, the transitions in flavors had my attention all the way to the nub. Nutty cashew, salted buttery creamy notes of light charred wood with a touch of honey lingered. Very slight pinch of spice. The draw is open and airy which allowed for a razor sharp burn with slow and even inhales. I think this would be a great alternative for a cuban fix. Im looking forward to sampling the rest.

Very nice cigar. Great color wrapper, although a little veiny and rustic looking. Good smoke production; good draw...maybe just a little loose. Good burn for the most part; no relight required. Pleasant aroma, and very mild flavor with just a very little spice and sweetness to it. Overall, I’d smoke it again, and look forward to trying a few other vitolas.

I've become a big Eiroa fan lately and ive also come to appreciate a good Connecticut cigar after smoking little else but full-strength cigars for years. I enjoyed the smoothness of the Connecticut wrapper with a little bit more flavor than normal, but I wouldn't put it in my top tier. Definitely one to try if you like a little extra body with a Connecticut wrapper.

I was already a huge fan of this blend in the corona vitola, and I found the robusto to be equally as good. I think this ring guage gives a slightly less harsh flavor than the corona and smokes about the same length of time. I'll have to pick up a few more before deciding which size I'd rather buy a box of.
