Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Maduro wrapper can go from dark coffee brown with a reddish tint to blackish brown (the latter also called Oscuro).

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Mexican tobacco is very dark and the best leaves can be used as maduro wrappers. In San Andres de Tuxtla (in the state of Vera Cruz), there is a very interesting production of Sumatra seed wrappers. Dark air cured tobaccos are produced in Mexico, mainly in Vera Cruz and Tampico provinces, on the East Coast along the Gulf. There is also some production in Yucatan. Mexico's volcanic soil yields tobacco that is spicy and earthy, with a very distinctive flavor.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Habano Ecuador is a Cuban-seed tobacco that is grown and cultivated in Ecuador using traditional Cuban methods.

A solid cigar. I had spice, leather, cocoa flavors at the start, then 2/3 of the smoke it became more mild and sweet, a sugary kind of sweetness. Then towards the end, the spice kicked back in, along with black coffee and sugary sweetness flavors. So quite a lot of transitions in flavor. Reminds me a bit of the Ashton Maduro, or the CH La Careme. Not the best burn, but I enjoyed this one. Medium strength smoke.

As another review mentioned...THIS is the Saka smoke I was looking for. Full bodied and flavored yet goes so smooth. Complex and excellent in every way. Strong choco, peat, coffee and just a smidge of spice on the back end that doesn't let me put this one down for a second. Phenomenal is what it truly is.

This stick was an odd one. The branding comes out with guns blazing using a boastful with a name like "sin compromiso" (without compromise), elaborate packaging to match, and a high price point commensurate with premium quality. But once it out of the packaging its appearance seems unremarkable, and a prominent gasoline note in my stick marred the whole experience from the cold draw down to the final third. The draw, burn, and construction were all mediocre. Other notes of coffee, leather, and hay were in the mix, but off-flavors nevertheless dominated. I was surprised by this one. Low marks, not recommended.

Quite the large stature. Decided to light up on a lazy Sunday afternoon with all the time in the world. Large cedar sleeve and an ornate band. The wrapper leaf is espresso brown that's tight and toothy. An even soft box-press, expected quality from DTT. Vcut. burn was relatively even, but the ash stack was kinda loose. Flavor profile was surprisingly mellow. Charred mesquite, peat, and fig jam sweetness on the finish. Second third came quicker than I expected. No discernable pepper, instead it's a medley of grains, subtle sweetness. Felt like the finish was a moist raisin bread. The ash hold was disappointing, was tempted to tap very early then ended up wearing it... smoker beware. At the homestretch a chocolate richness joined the profile. The sweet bread becomes cornbread. Took the band off and it started to unravel the wrapper leaf, ugh. Overall for the price point? Disappointed. For a DTT? Disappointed. It's decent but I'll hesitate before I pick-up again.

Absolutely fantastic construction! The first half of the stick was pepper, deep chocolate and earth. The second half was almost like drinking an Aztec hot chocolate. Really interesting. Id say this was a bit more interesting than a padron 1964, and actually a bit cheaper.

For the people who don't drink. To me a double shot of espresso with a shot of sugar or two. Don't get me wrong bourbon is great with it to. The espresso just Enhance the flavor you can taste the cocoa,espresso I get a lite taste of the honey this cigar is really creamy flavor from it. Have to be one of most favorable cigars I have smoke in a long time you have to try it.

Great tasting cigar. First third of cigar is a bit strong and spicy. After that the real taste of the smoke comes through with hints is chocolate and cocoa comes out and the smoke tends to mellow. The price is a bit high. If you are budget conscious and are looking for a great smoke try the Olivia Aniversario 135. The Olivia at $10. Is a good alternative. For a great smoke the Sin Compromiso is the clear cut winner, good to the very end.

Sin Compromiso is absolutely my favorite from the Dumbarton Tobacco portfolio, and it has been Long before Esteve Saka stated it is his favorite blend. Don’t get me wrong on this, I think Mi querida, Todos las dias, Triqui traca and Sobremesa are solid (I smoke a lot of those by the way) as the other lines of Dumbarton Tobacco are too… but there is something about Sin Compromiso that gets me smoking this cigar a lot. The dark wrapper contrast beautifully with the cigar band and the packaging is a hint of how good it is the cigar underneath all that. The first few puffs gave up flavors of wood and earth with a touch of pepper spice. I also got very solid and noticeable notes of espresso when retrohaling. As the first third star heating up, I pick up a little honey kind of sweetness. The second third, I tasted some cedar with earth and cocoa, chocolate and espresso notes. I would say this cigar is a medium-plus in body so far. The final third of Sin Compromiso featured cocoa and coffee notes along with some flavors I was not able to identify. It looks like I have too smoke more in order to perfect my palate. Mildly sweet notes and a little pepper spice, classic from the San Andres wrapper. The espresso flavors seemed to pick up and the pepper stayed right there boosting and supporting the flavor profile and making all them to increase the closer I get to the end. It was very difficult to me to put it out and even more difficult not to smoke another one right away. My humble opinion: this is a great smoke with a high amount of complexity and a real pleasure from the beginning till the very end. I enjoyed its complexity; the flavors; the sweetness; the perfect burn and its excellent draw. I paired it with Glenlivet 18, and I couldn't have chosen better. It truly was a match made in heaven…Salud!!

This stick started off wonderful, towards the start of the 2/3 I had draw issues; I noticed a pin hole all the way through the cigar which affected the draw and burn in a funny way I've never seen. If you are trying to decide if it’s worth buying this for a cigar let me tell you, I have never had a better cigar than the 7 by 56 version of this. I bought a box of those and one each of the other 2 sizes that were in stock. I can tell you it was no fluke. They are all unreal just like every Steve saka stogie. They are not too busy the best cigar I have ever had. You cannot find a better cigar retailer in the world m. They give you 5% back for future purchases in their smoke ring programme. This was a great smoke for me since I like full body smokes. This is not as strong as most of the other sticks Saka creates, but still has complexity and bold flavor. Ahhh Steve Saka, sin compromiso is right, definitely worth the price. Aged Tobacco with notes of dried cocoa, sweet earth and dark roast coffee at the finish. The burn wasn’t razor sharp but it held its end.

I must preface this review by saying I’m a Saka fanboy...but I much prefer the #5 to this vitola. Had major burn issue with this box, which is a first out of literally approx 25 boxes I’ve smoked of various DT&T lines. The cigar is still exceptional and is comprised of marvelous aged tobaccos. The Mexican San Andreas wrapper may be the best used in the industry. Bold but not over powering...subtle but each puff still grabs you. The cigar will make you wanna immediately grab a second to smoke again!

I liked this a lot more than the torpedo, largely because this smoked down to thru the final 1/3 without getting hot/harsh. Beautiful stick, again - deep chocolate-brown wrapper, delicious cocoa-powder and cedar aroma (from the sleeve). Cons: burn was a bit wonky and inconsistent. Pros: really moderate-body cocoa-powder flavor with a very interesting, perceptible sweetness ... kind of like putting a spoonful of Nestle Qwik on your tongue, if there was a baker's chocolate version of Qwik. Reminded me of a slightly less-refined 1964 Padron maduro (no. 4). Long smoke, pretty satisfying. For the price, I might buy more. Have another one in the humidor to see how it goes with some time. Worth a try to get to know the line.

Beautiful stick, including the cedar wrapper. minor wavy burn. have another in the humidor to let sit for a while. Lots of refined baker's chocolate / cocoa powder all through the 1st half. 2nd half got much spicier and bordering on a touch of harsh closer to the nub, but all in all a worthwhile experience. the price is a bit high but still less than the 1964 / 1926 padrons and alma fuertes. I smoked an Alma Fuerte Robusto yesterday for comparison, and it was more refined and nub-able, but this torpedo is worth a shot.
