The H. Upmann Grupo de Maestros Connecticut is what happens when two master cigar crafters get together. Altadis’ Grupo de Maestros and Rafael Nodal of Aging Room Cigars artfully blended the H. Upmann Grupo de Maestros Connecticut. An exquisite Ecuadorian Connecticut-shade wrapper surrounds a binder from the DR, which is stuffed with a stout blend of fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic to create a medium-strength cigar. But wait! There’s more. To give it an extra touch, this premium stick is topped with a dark, maduro cap. The H. Upmann Group de Maestros has a solid construction and a flavor profile that consists of leather and earth with hints of nuts.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
The Dominican Republic is the world's first producer of cigars. Most factories are located in Santiago, in the center of the island, and in close proximity to the tobacco fields grown in the fertile Cibao Valley. While tobacco and cigars have always traditionally been produced in the Dominican Republic, many Cuban cigar makers established in the Dominican Republic after the Cuban communist revolution, elevating the quality of Dominican cigars.

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Ecuador is the perfect place to grow wrappers, because it is located on the Equator! And it has rich soils too. The weather conditions, with a nearly permanent cloudy sky, provide a natural shade, protecting the wrapper plants from sunshine and allowing the tobacco to grow thin and light. This climate allows tobacco growers to grow Connecticut-seed wrapper in the shade without shade cloths, resulting in more economical wrapper.

Dominican Republic
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Dominican Republic is a traditional tobacco-growing country. In the 60's, a Cuban seed was introduced and the resulting tobacco, called Piloto Cubano, became famous as a good substitute of the Cuban tobacco that was no longer allowed to enter the USA. Piloto Cubano is full bodied while the Dominican Olor tobacco is milder but more aromatic.

This is a phenomenal morning cigar mild not overwhelming good draw good burn and in aroma that other people in the room really won't complain about. The lightness of the flavor is a benefit in this case. We're not talking about a Maduro here anyway this is a Connecticut and it is a true Connecticut in every sense of the word.

Ok Cigar. Medium plus strength with mild/subtle flavors. First starts off with a blast of bitter tobacco and then settles down to roasted cereal and mild roasted nut. Finish was a mild warm cream. Nice draw. Second third was like the first, but a nut flavor joined the finish. Strength notch down to medium. Final third started to burn a bit hot and the draw got really loose. Cedar and wood flavors. Strength went back up to medium plus. Overall an OK smoke, but probably wouldn't buy it again.

I don't usually smoke Connecticut don't really have a taste for it but I must say this is one of the best Connecticut's I've ever had nice smooth silky creamy good draw good taste definitely would get this again..
