The Eiroa CBT Maduro name comes from the fact that the three parts of the cigar, wrapper, binder, and filler (in Spanish, Capa, Banda and Tripa) are maduro tobacco. Blended by Christian Eiroa of CLE Cigars at the Aladino factory in Honduras. The leaves are selected from the top primings of the plant making this cigar's flavor intense. Only 150,000 cigars made for the original release in 2014.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Honduras, a Central American country which shares a border with Nicaragua, is widely known in the premium cigar industry as the ideal place to grow Cuban and Connecticut seed tobaccos. Danli and the Jamastran Valley is considered the heart of Honduras’ cigar industry. The Jamastran Valley is known for producing a full-bodied tobacco that draws strong comparisons to the tobacco grown in the Pinar del Rio region of Cuba. This same region is also known for its Connecticut shade grown and Corojo shade grown tobacco. In addition, Honduras produces Cuban-seed sun grown filler tobaccos of the highest quality.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Maduro wrapper can go from dark coffee brown with a reddish tint to blackish brown (the latter also called Oscuro).

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Mexican tobacco is very dark and the best leaves can be used as maduro wrappers. San Andres Maduro is a thick, medium bodied dark leaf, also called San Andres Morron. Like Connecticut Broadleaf, San Andres Maduro is stalk cut and used for binder and wrapper.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.

Very interesting rich earthy flavor, almost like a petty scotch. Haven't tasted anything remotely similar in a cigar before this. Nice and creamy smoke with almost no spice or harshness. Towards the half way point, the flavor takes on a meaty character. Another great Eiroa blend.

At first this had a charred wood taste. Not in a good way. But as others mentioned, it mellows out. Thank goodness. It wasn’t bad but not exactly pleasing either. The burn was fine and the draw was okay. Which was surprising since it is very tightly rolled. I don’t consider this a >10-12 smoke though. Better ones out there in this range. Better equate as a 6-8 dollar stick. Always good to try new sticks since how else to find favorites. This one isn’t one for me.

Very rustic wrapper leaf, obviously dark, cold draw had a faint sweetness. I’m interested to see where this will go. Initial taste is leather, wood and still that faint sweetness. Tons of smoke, razor sharp burn line in first 1/3. Medium body so far. Draw has mild resistance. Gray/black ash that’s slightly flaky. Ash dropped at 1-1/2”. Half way transition to cocoa/espresso, still perfect burn and smoke. It's a good cigar, not a go-to at $10+ for a robusto.

Great looking, very well constructed cigar with a great burn that easily holds 2” white ash. Draw was a little loose with a vcut, which is perfect for me. Extremely smooth for a full bodied cigar. Easily the sweetest tobacco flavor ive experienced. 1/3 in and it was already on my favorites list and it just kept getting better. Black licorice finish that lasts forever. Aroma is a chocolate/ cocoa that goes perfect with the flavor. This is imo, the perfect cigar.

This stick was a bit of a surprise. Very nice pepper to start smoothing out to almond coco nuances throughout the stick. I am a fan of San Andres wrappers and this one did not disappoint.

A good cigar, but not a value; after the excellent packaging, the extra toothy and veiny wrapper is the next thing you notice. Flavor is good all the way through with notes of coffee, orange oil and red and black pepper. It's leathery after the first third and by the halfway point, you will need a drink of water... Burn is sub-par and I was disappointed to see large stems/veins in the filler; likely the reason for the wonky burn. Decent, but there are a plethora of sticks in this price range that easily squash this one.

one of my favorite cigars. it's dark chocolate taste and créame at the same time is great on my pallet. medium to full, burns even and it pretty consistent. I have always been a huge fan of the original Eiroa so I was very excited when the maduro version was released. All parts of this cigar are maduro -- the wrapper, binder and filler -- which gives it an intense flavor. To start this cigar was extremely peppery -- even to the point that I was questioning whether I would continue. Within 5-7 minutes the pepper mellowed out and then became enjoyable for me. A sweetness along with a mocha flavor appeared. The cigar is not as complex as the original Eiroa but definitely kept transitioning between a sweetness and spiciness. The burn line was perfect from start to finish as well as the draw. Overall this cigar is constructed perfect.

Some may feel this stick is a bit on the strong side for a morning smoke. I however, decided to light one up alongside a cup of espresso while sitting outside enjoying the sun a few mornings ago. First off, this is a very nice looking cigar. It is dark brown, almost black, with minimal veins and no soft spots. It is not overtly oily...the wrapper has almost a suede leather like feel. The pack is quite firm, but the draw is pleasing...not exceedingly easy or tough. Upon light, I was greeted with a blast of black pepper, cinnamon, clove and leather. As I smoked on, the cigar started to mellow out a bit with the predominant flavors consisting of dark cocoa, raisin, earth and leather. That spice that greeted me when I first lit up was still dancing around in the background during every puff. The burn was consistent, the ash firm, and the construction solid. Good flavor from start to finish. No serious complaints. I highly recommend this stick to anyone who enjoys a hearty, well made maduro. The "CBT" stands for "Capa, Binda, Tripa" by the way, which means that this is an ALL maduro cigar....
