The Crowned Heads Mil Dias Maduro is a line extension to the ever-popular Mil Dias series. However, the blend has been completely re-engineered to provide a uniquely different but desirable smoking experience. The blend starts with premium filler leaves from Jalapa, Condega, Ometepe, which are three regions in Nicaragua known for producing excellent tobacco. The filler leaves are housed in a Habano binder, and then the bunch is covered by a muscular USA Connecticut Broadleaf maduro wrapper. The cigars are known for the distinctive flavor profile, excellent construction, and peppery retro-hale. The cigars are handmade in Nicaragua.

The Mil Días Des Deux LE 2025 is a dual-blend limited release featuring twelve Corona Grande cigars, a size unique to this release and a personal favorite of Crowned Heads co-founder John Huber. Six carry an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper with Costa Rican, Nicaraguan, and Peruvian fillers, while six are dressed in Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro with all-Nicaraguan fillers. Produced at D’Hatuey in Estelí, it showcases two distinct medium-bodied expressions of the Mil Días line in a unique vitola. Limited product of just 1,500 boxes. I love Crowned Heads. This is a good stick. It just doesn’t stand out like so many Crowned Heads sticks do. Simply put; it’s just another quality Maduro and more expensive than many. Good flavors. Pepper is not up front as indicated in the description. It is in balance. I would never turn one of these down but I would likely choose a different brand offering the same smoking experience.

Just like the standard Mil Dias, the construction was not the best. Slightly tight draw, wavy burn, slow burn too. Flavors started off nice, cocoa, dark chocolate, some leather and sweetness. Nice chocolate aromas. However, there was a strong spice hitting the back of the throat. The spice lasted pretty much throughout the whole cigar. Maybe this needed more aging. Strength started off mild but moved towards a solid medium in the 2nd half. Flavors became more like espresso, sweetness was still there, and stronger leather notes. Then towards the end, strength ramped up to a solid medium plus / full minus strength. Spice died down a little, sweetness a main note now. Overall, I would've liked this more if not the strength, and the spice. I'm gonna go back to the standard Mil Dias.
