The La Bomba Warhead brand is an annual release, limited-edition cigar that delivers a potent and very spicy smoking indulgence. It is composed entirely Nicaraguan tobacco from its filler to its muscular Broadleaf maduro wrapper. The cigar’s band and box have a military theme that telegraphs the cigar’s strength. This is one cigar that you will want to enjoy after a hearty meal. The cigars are handmade at AJ Fernandez’s San Lotano factory in Nicaragua.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Maduro wrapper can go from dark coffee brown with a reddish tint to blackish brown (the latter also called Oscuro).

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Nicaraguan cigar wrappers are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Wrappers grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro wrappers are all produced in Nicaragua.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Chris Whitnall They only made 1000 boxes. It will be sold out. The new one is out though and it is the bomb!! (Pun intended)

The annual limited edition La Bomba Warhead is one of my favorite cigars and something I look forward to every year. To me, there is minimal (if any) variance in the blend; only the vitola changes. Full flavored and complex, just the way I like it.

I always look forward to the 601 La Bomba Warhead releases, so I was very very excited to smoke the Warhead VII. This cigar is made in a unique size and shape --a box pressed churchill -- 7 x 50. It is a Nicaraguan puro, with a very dark chocolate oily wrapper -- almost rustic looking. Upon first light, a dry woodiness is upfront, slowly followed by pepper notes. I was definitely feeling tingling on my tongue! The strength is at a medium at this point. I will note that there was a very nice amount of smoke output. The cigar started getting a bit dry to the taste but going into the second third, a nice creaminess comes into play. The smoke becomes extremely smooth with a bit of sweetness peeking in. I taste almost a cappuccino flavor swirling about. Pepper notes along with earthiness were still in the background. Into the final third, the pepper picked back up but the creaminess was still a partner. Those notes along with some woodiness took me to the very end. Construction throughout was problem free. Strength got up to be around med/full, and the complexity was at a medium--but extremely enjoyable!! There was a very nice balance throughout the cigar as well. I was interested until the very end. This is definitely a cigar worth trying before it is no longer in existence! Enjoy!!
