Ferio Tego Timeless Panamericana

The Timeless Panamericana brand was originally released by Nat Sherman in 2014. It was an exclusive premium cigar that was available only at the iconic Nat Sherman Townhouse store, which was in Manhattan, New York City. After the historic Nat Sherman premium cigar brand was dissolved, the Timeless Panamericana was picked by the Ferio Tego, which was launched in 2021. The Ferio Tego Timeless Panamericana features the same full-bodied blend as the original, and it uses the finest Central American tobaccos. It is expertly handmade in Nicaragua at the Plasencia Cigars factory. Ferio Tego was founded by Michael Herklots formerly the VP of Nat Sherman International and Brendon Scott formerly the CFO of Nat Sherman International.

Big fan of the presentation, the dual black & gold bands are well... timeless. Haven't had the original blend when it was a Nat Sherman stick, but I'm excited to see what Ferio Tego does with it. The namesake is Panamericana as Ecuador, Costa Rica and Nicaragua are all on the Panamerican highway and this blend incorporates each. The wrapper was smooth and weathered. it reminiscent of a rugged saddle or stitched auto interior, with rich chocolate brown leather and beige veins. straight cut. the dry draw gives a blend of coffee and pepper. with a quick light-up I'm off to the races. first third flavor profile is an array of salt & pepper, leather, and hints of caramel corn, or thick toffee. retrohale showcases the spice as well as a unique custard note. I'm appreciating the burn, it's slow and steady while leaving a tight even-hued stack. at the second third the pepper trades places with the salty minerality. smoke output was okay, draw was decent. while pondering the star ratings, every category held a strong four. ashed just south of the second band, but noticed the heat creeping up the stick. only slight touchups needed. at the halfway mark the flavor was a chewy pumpernickel bread. the retrohale dialed up the spice at this point. final third is leather, and caramelized barbeque: burnt ends! the burn required a few more touches at the second ashing, but revealed a solid cone underneath. It's toasted bread with subtle creaminess and toasted almond to finish things out. overall it's a respectable smoke, one that I took down to a half inch. I'd like to see it in a thicker vitola as the body of the smoke seems confined by the epicure offering. the packing felt full throughout and the craftsmanship is apparent. be cautious debanding as they were heavy-handed with the glue. it's a unique journey as the palate notes above outline, and one I simply enjoyed. final smoke time: 80 minutes.
