Micallef Lowercase a Petit Corona 4 * 46, Box of 50

Micallef Cigars took an unprecedented approach for its company when developing the name for the Micallef A. The cigar maker asked its most ardent fans to come up with a name. They came back with the “Micallef Ambassador,” which is a reference to the Micallef Cigars Ambassador Group, the brand’s fan club. After careful review, the company decided to call their latest maduro line the “Micallef A,” which is a nod of recognition to their club. The Micallef A features a coffee-brown Nicaraguan maduro wrapper that is adorned with a very eye-catching band. The back of the band has a special message for Micallef fans. The wrapper covers a Sumatra binder and long-filler leaves from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. It offers up a spicy, peppery and sweet smoking experience. The cigar is handmade in Nicaragua.

Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Maduro wrapper can go from dark coffee brown with a reddish tint to blackish brown (the latter also called Oscuro).

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Nicaraguan cigar wrappers are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Wrappers grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro wrappers are all produced in Nicaragua.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Tobacco grown in Sumatra is chiefly used as a wrapper, but it also serves as a great binder. It is flavorful and has a consistent dark color.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.

The Dominican Republic is considered one of the most premier tobacco growing countries in the world. The filler tobacco grown in this Caribbean island nation ranges from mild to full bodied. Olor Dominicano and Piloto Cubano are the main types of tobacco grown in the Dominican Republic.

The A is the first of a few Micallefs that I bought and it's pretty decent. While I found the first half to be kind of bland, the last half was more flavorful. I've been wanting to try some Micallefs after watching the Texas Cigar Roadshow on YouTube.. glad Neptune Cigars carries them because the nearest B&M that has em in stock is nearly 2hrs away from me lol
