The Crowned Heads Four Kicks Capa Especial is the fourth addition to the world famous Four Kicks line, which includes: Four Kicks, Four Kicks Maduro, and Four Kicks Mule Kick LE. Handmade at E.P. Carrillo’s famed Tabacalera Alianza in the Dominican Republic, the Capa Especial sports an inviting natural Ecuadorian Sumatra-seed wrapper artfully draped over a Nicaraguan binder and a blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos. This potent, yet balanced stick delivers rich notes of earth and spice underscored by a warm tobacco aroma. The Capa Especial is rolled using the intricate entubado method which creates a firm cigar and provides a flawless draw.

The Dominican Republic is the world's first producer of cigars. Most factories are located in Santiago, in the center of the island, and in close proximity to the tobacco fields grown in the fertile Cibao Valley. While tobacco and cigars have always traditionally been produced in the Dominican Republic, many Cuban cigar makers established in the Dominican Republic after the Cuban communist revolution, elevating the quality of Dominican cigars.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.

Ecuadorian Sumatra-Seed
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Ecuador is the perfect place to grow wrappers, because it is located on the Equator! And it has rich soils too. The weather conditions, with a nearly permanent cloudy sky, provide a natural shade, protecting the wrapper plants from sunshine and allowing the tobacco to grow thin and light. Ecuador supplies Connecticut and Sumatra type wrappers to many cigar factory in the world.

Nicaragua
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Made this purchase because this cigar landed on the top 25 list this year. Was pleased to find it at Neptune as I had trouble locating this one. I was impressed with the cigar. I found it mostly lived up to it's high ranking. It has a great wrap, strong draw, and even burn. The flavor was quite complex and I found myself experiencing tones of pepper and citrus but with a strong earthy foundation. This was a great smoke, and is highly recommended.

The original Four Kicks is one of the cigars that made me a regular cigar smoker. I think this version has the original blend beat. Perfect amount of pepper at the beginning, and a wonderful sweetness throughout. Absolute winner!

I loved everything about this little gem except for the draw which was firm and tight at times. Pinching and rolling helped. Otherwise an awesome tasting and smelling cigar that is excellently constructed with an almost perfect burn. To me it was leathery and earthy with a slight orange peel spiciness which I always get with EP Carrillos. Loosen the draw a bit and this becomes an amazing smoke.

This cigar fir my palate is somewhat less complex than the Mule Kick LE 2019. Long burn with a medium to full taste throughout. A close second to the 2019 line. Yet , I do recommend this cigar for the experienced purveyor of fine cigars.

Started off really promising, a nice looking oily wrapper releasing a really nice bouquet of flavors like leather, wood and caramel. Draw was a little tight but burned very well at first. About halfway in the draw suddenly plugged up and it began to canoe. Touched it up several times but getting to the final third it didn't resolve and started to taste nasty (probably from the heavy draws and relighting). Ended up tossing it early, not interested in giving it a second chance for the price :(
