After years of aging their estate-grown Ligero Tobaccos, La Flor Dominicana was ready for their first full bodied cigar. The wrapper is Ecuadorian Sumatra with Dominican filler and binder leaves from their farm in La Canela, Dominican Republic. The flavor is outstanding.

The Dominican Republic is the world's first producer of cigars. Most factories are located in Santiago, in the center of the island, and in close proximity to the tobacco fields grown in the fertile Cibao Valley. While tobacco and cigars have always traditionally been produced in the Dominican Republic, many Cuban cigar makers established in the Dominican Republic after the Cuban communist revolution, elevating the quality of Dominican cigars.

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Ecuadorian Habano wrapper has become one of the most used cigar wrappers in the market. Grown primarily by the Oliva family, this tobacco originated from Habano or H2000 seeds brought to Ecuador from Cuba. This leaf is rich and flavorful thanks to the temperate climate of Ecuador and the quality of its volcanic soil.

Dominican Republic
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Dominican Republic is a traditional tobacco-growing country. In the 60's, a Cuban seed was introduced and the resulting tobacco, called Piloto Cubano, became famous as a good substitute of the Cuban tobacco that was no longer allowed to enter the USA. Piloto Cubano is full bodied while the Dominican Olor tobacco is milder but more aromatic.

Good construction. on the plus side for strength and flavor, mostly deep earth flavor and spicy on every puff. would not recommend to a novice. not a lot of transitions, not very complex, but solid core flavors from start to finish. This is not my favorite flavor profile, however it should not take away the merit of the blend. This is as good as a natural cigar as you can get for the money.

I acclimated these sticks for three week before I smoked the "Air Bender". Immediately upon lighting the wrapper started cracking. The cracking continued down the cigar during the entire smoke. That said the cracking did not lead to poor draw. Probably would not order again because of the cracking. We'll see how the others in this sampler pack perform.

Best cigar I have smoked! My favourite was the R&J Churchill, until I had this. I thought at 6 60 it would be too big, a bit of a monster, but it is so smooth and flavourful, it was an absolute pleasure. I will definitely be carrying these in the humidor.

Tasty - if you can keep the son of a bitch both burning and held together. Worst rolled cheroot I have ever dealt with. Wanted to like it - but you honstly need a degree to figure out how to smoke it AND keep it from unrolling! As always - Neptune service is always first-rate and gets you the goods in perfect order!

This is a nice sample pack. Litto Gomez gives an interesting description about ways to cut a Chisel cigar. Two ways include squeezing it and popping it open or you can punch the the top. Easy to find with Google and YouTube. Great sample check it out.
