The Aganorsa Leaf Validacion (formerly known as Casa Fernandez Aganorsa) Corojo is a full-strength Nicaraguan puro that is handmade in Nicaragua. It features a dark, reddish Corojo wrapper placed over a binder and filler made of premium Nicaraguan tobaccos. The Aganorsa Leaf Validacion Corojo is a hearty, fully flavored cigar that goes great as an after-dinner smoke. The cigars undergo a rigorous quality control process before they are finally released. They call it “validacion,” which is Spanish for validation or validating.

Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Nicaraguan Corojo
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Nicaraguan Corojo '99 tobacco originated as a wrapper leaf in 1999 in Cuba. The seeds of the original Corojo '99 seed were planted in Ecuador, and these in turn were transplanted to Nicaragua. The leaf is appreciated for its excellent wrapper qualities and spiciness.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

I found it pleasant to smoke, but would have been much better if not for construction issues. It kept going out and the ash just kept falling apart everywhere, it made a mess. Flavor was there though. I would smoke it again if someone gave it to me.

This had been in humidor for a few months. I decided to give it a go. Wow, what a surprise. Excellent all the way ‘round. Very distinct and pleasant. Perfect gif this late afternoon with coffee. I’ll have to try some others of the brand. This one smokes like a more expensive stick. Very worthy of the cost.
