The RoMa Craft Maestranza wastes no time making an impression. The opening draws deliver a sharp pop of cayenne pepper that wakes up the palate and leaves a subtle tingle behind. That heat quickly settles into a layered mix of baking spices—cinnamon, ginger, and brown sugar— resting over rich pecan and dark coffee notes. A deep, musky wood character anchors the profile and carries the finish.
Construction is excellent from start to finish. The draw is effortless, and even the lightest puff produces thick, lingering clouds of smoke. The burn line shows a slight waviness but never becomes an issue, while the tightly packed white and dark gray ash holds firm for nearly an inch. Strength stays mild early on, allowing the flavors to shine.
As the cigar develops, the sweetness fades and a pleasant dryness takes over, pushing the wood and musk to the forefront. The retrohale brings bold wood and black coffee, delivering a full-bodied experience without harshness. Despite its size, the La Maestranza burns slow and cool, stretching close to two hours with flawless performance.
This is a cigar that sticks with you. The flavor profile hits exactly what I look for, and beyond personal taste, it delivers exceptional construction, value, and consistency. The RoMa Craft Maestranza has earned a permanent place in my rotation.

I certainly enjoyed the smaller Robusto vitola a little more, but this was still a stellar cigar! Nice mellow spice and earthiness with hints of chocolate that were more prominent on the retrohale
