The Perdomo Legacy Series Nicaraguan Maduro is a deeply personal blend, crafted to honor the man who inspired it all. Blended as a tribute to Nick Perdomo Sr. by his son, Nick Jr., this line features a rich, 10-year-aged Cuban-seed Nicaraguan Maduro wrapper, bourbon barrel-aged for 14 months, paired with a shade-grown hybrid binder of Cameroon and Cuban seed, developed exclusively by the Perdomo family. A true Nicaraguan puro, it offers a medium to full-bodied profile with deep notes of cocoa and espresso. It’s a cigar that speaks to decades of hard work, pride, and generational passion.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Maduro wrapper can go from dark coffee brown with a reddish tint to blackish brown (the latter also called Oscuro).

Nicaraguan Maduro
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Nicaraguan cigar wrappers are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Wrappers grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro wrappers are all produced in Nicaragua.

Nicaraguan Habano
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan Habano tobacco is grown in the Jalapa and Esteli regions of Nicaragua, which is valued for its rich volcanic soil and ideal climate for growing tobacco. Nicaraguan Habano produces cigars with a Cubanesque flavor and aroma.

Perdomo Cigars President, Nick Perdomo Jr., is a third-generation cigar maker. His grandfather and father were cigarmakers in Cuba until the Castro regime incarcerated Nick's grandfather,Silvio, and wounded Nick's father, Nick Sr., who was able to escape to America. Nick, who opened his cigar company in his garage, now oversees over 2000 employees and an 88,000 sq ft factory in Nicaragua. Perdomo cigars are well known all over the world.

I didn't get the barrel aging notes like I have in previous Perdomo offerings. A fairly average Maduro and definitely not above many others from Perdomo. Very tight draw.

Firm construction, tight draw at first but loosened up in the second half after some light squeezing/rolling to soften. Mostly even burn with only a couple of minor touchups needed. Full bodied and toothy with good thick smoke output and flavors of dark chocolate and black peppery spiciness with a hint of a mushroom-like earthiness.

It definitely has the aged tobacco smoke and smoothness, but im not keeping up any of the bourbon barrel notes. Overall a good premium stick and nice notes of coffee, wood, earth, some chocolate, but for me as a bourbon drinker im not getting the barrel notes.
