Introduced in 1999, La Gloria Cubana Serie R has become a mainstay in countless smokers' humidors. The Serie R Maduro takes that winning combination and swaps out the wrapper with a USA Connecticut Broadleaf for added strength and sweetness. Rounded out with a Nicaraguan binder and Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers, this Dominican-made medium to full-bodied cigar offers complex notes of leather, earth and just the right amount of spice for a delicious treat worthy of the heritage it has created since its inception. Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
The Dominican Republic is the world's first producer of cigars. Most factories are located in Santiago, in the center of the island, and in close proximity to the tobacco fields grown in the fertile Cibao Valley. While tobacco and cigars have always traditionally been produced in the Dominican Republic, many Cuban cigar makers established in the Dominican Republic after the Cuban communist revolution, elevating the quality of Dominican cigars.

USA Connecticut Broadleaf
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Connecticut Broadleaf is grown in the United States' Connecticut Valley and is prized for its dark, oily, full flavored and aromatic characteristics. The plants are grown in full sun giving this cigar wrapper its characteristic sweetness. The Connecticut Broadleaf plant leaves are mainly processed as maduro tobacco. Today, Connecticut Broadleaf seeds are being grown in other countries besides the United States.
Binder
Nicaragua
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Dominican Republic
Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.
Filler (or “tripa” in Spanish) is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar. The Dominican Republic is considered one of the most premier tobacco growing countries in the world. The filler tobacco grown in this Caribbean island nation ranges from mild to full bodied. Olor Dominicano and Piloto Cubano are the main types of tobacco grown in the Dominican Republic.

David Sharp Specification says this cigar is 4 7/8 inches long but heading says it is 5 7/8 which is normal for the No. 6 Which is correct?

Cigar had nice dark fruit flavors. Construction was not the greatest it began to unravel pretty bad in the second hald and had a very flakey ash. It also had a fast burn for the size which was ok given that it is a large cigar burn time was that of a average toro-churchill I would say not a bad smoke for the money I would try another and see If the constructio was a one time issue or if they all have it

Just an overall excellent cigar. If your looking for a great tasting cigar that burns even and doesn’t go out this is it. If you want to save $$$ go for the R black maduro, as they taste very similar but don’t burn as well and evenly and go out a couple times. I literally smoked a series r maduro, series r black maduro, and series r black all at same time to compare taste, burn, etc. Series R maduro best overall and didn’t go out at all but cost most, then R black maduro same taste but went out and never burn, then r black still good but third place taste and went out most.

Discovered these decently priced sticks a few years back I love the strength of this Maduro but with a slight sweetness. Due to tobacco inconsistencies you will find a few that might need to be spiked for a good draw and could burn uneven for the same reason.

BOLD, strong but sweet and spicy. This is definitely my upper limit in strength. It tasted so good I powered through to the last inch definitely not a good candidate for the first smoke of the day if you will smoke more than one cigar ... but tasted excellent with a good scotch.

The LGC Series R #4 Maduro is a great daily smoke. I prefer this cigar paired with black coffee. The cigar is a medium to slight full with tastes of coffee, chocolate, and earth. The draw and burn are a little inconsistent throughout the box. This blend is my favorite daily smoke!

My favorite is the #5, so wanted to try the #7. I smoke this brand with black coffee and experience a sweet syrup coffee cocoa leather taste on the retro-Hale. After trying the #7, I like the #5 a tad bit more. The #7 took me 2 hours 10 minutes to smoke. Great burn time, but plan accordingly for a good 2 hr. Smoke.

The #5 Maduro is by far my favorite cigar with black coffee. The flavors can best be described as sweet syrup coffee cocoa leather when retro-haled. The appearance of its dark wrapper is spot on for the resulting taste. The burn is sharp slow and holds up to a long down time (don’t happen too often because I always want another draw). Again, outstanding when paired with black coffee!

Earth and leather predominate the flavor here. Somewhere around the half way point there is a slight fruitiness that will definitely wow you! The flavor is incredibly good and the room note enchanting!

I purchased the La Gloria Cubana Box because I had been giving a sample and it was very delightful. The price on this box of 24 was on sale and with the added 16 percent off for 100.00 24 of these cigars could not be passed. Very nice dark oil wrapper , They come without cellophane and very fresh after 2 days in the humidor. I recommend buying a box of 24. Very mild to medium , 54 ring is best for a long slow burn.

Nice cigar with great aroma. Makes lots of smoke. Easy draw and not wrapped too tight. Great appearance. More of a full body cigar. In the beginning a little difficult to keep lit but at the midpoint was no problem.

I first stumbled across the The Serie R Maduro in my local Brick & Mortar shop about 5 years ago. I asked the tobacconist for something that would shock me and he pointed me to it. Back then the # 6 was in the 10 dollar range, at least locally. I was shocked, for the money, in my humble opinion there isn’t a better smoke being sold. And at the prices Neptune lists, it is an absolute steal.

Very similar to the El Jefe, It's very earthy not creamy at all, so for anyone who likes earthy this is a very good cigar, draw was a bit tight.

I tend to stay on the medium side of the cigar spectrum but i had heard so many good things about it i decided to pick some up and i was very happy I did, starts off with a burst of pepper and mellows out to a smooth coffee note that lingers on the palate, very smooth through out but leaves you wanting more... would def recommend..

The LGC series R Maduro is my favorite cigar and I enjoy the wavell Maduro also. Have been a 90+ cigar smoker for just over 2 years and this compilation is consistently my greater enjoyment. Aroma, cannot say much, as my interest in flavor upstages Aroma. Customer service by Neptune sets the standard, particularly regarding packaging and the little humidification pillow, enclosed. Will certainly order more!
