La Palina Red Label

The La Palina Red Label is a blend full of flavor, not of strength. The silky Ecuadorian wrapper-binder duo keeps the Nicaraguan and Dominican filler tobaccos performing in unison. The La Palina Red Label starts out mild and never gets beyond medium, but your pallet will be working throughout. The La Palina Red Label is a beautiful cigar, perfect for a night out on the town. A delicate spice compliments the creamy and rich smoke, while the subtle sweetness on the finish will give you pause between puffs. Bolder isn't always better, the La Palina Red Label proves it.

About: La Palina Red Label Toro 6" * 50
This stick caught my eye inmediately. A beautiful red and gold label with the vintage image of a woman, classic and inviting....the wrapper is a nice hue of red, the cigar feels firm to the touch.  My previous experience with this brand was so pleasant so I was very excited to try this beauty.  In the first puff I got hit with a gust of pepper but that lasted a few seconds, after that the cigar mellows out and become sweet, with floral and fruity notes as the predominant flavors and fluctuating from mild to medium in strength. The second third was a pleasure: leather notes are the perfect companion for the floral flavors, with pepper and hints of herbal tones playing in my palate. The black pepper receded in the last third and is replaced by woody and sweet cedar notes giving the cigar a nice smooth finish.  Nice draw and a solid gray ash almost throughout the whole smoke but becoming a little bit flaky in the final third. No relights needed.  Medium strength, flavorful, a solid smoke, definitely worth a try !!
