The Camacho Connecticut is the brand's response to consumer and retailer requests for a milder offering from the acclaimed Honduran company. Camacho Connecticut uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper on top of a Honduran Corojo binder and Dominican and Honduran fillers to achieve a spicy yet smooth delivery containing notes of nuts, cedar and pepper. Sitting somewhere between mild and medium on the strength scale, the Camacho Connecticut will appeal to aficionados and novices alike.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Honduras, a Central American country which shares a border with Nicaragua, is widely known in the premium cigar industry as the ideal place to grow Cuban and Connecticut seed tobaccos. Danli and the Jamastran Valley is considered the heart of Honduras’ cigar industry. The Jamastran Valley is known for producing a full-bodied tobacco that draws strong comparisons to the tobacco grown in the Pinar del Rio region of Cuba. This same region is also known for its Connecticut shade grown and Corojo shade grown tobacco. In addition, Honduras produces Cuban-seed sun grown filler tobaccos of the highest quality.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Claro wrapper is light, yellowish brown in color.

Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Ecuador is the perfect place to grow wrappers, because it is located on the Equator! And it has rich soils too. The weather conditions, with a nearly permanent cloudy sky, provide a natural shade, protecting the wrapper plants from sunshine and allowing the tobacco to grow thin and light. This climate allows tobacco growers to grow Connecticut-seed wrapper in the shade without shade cloths, resulting in more economical wrapper.

Honduras Corojo
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Honduran Corojo is primarily shade-grown and used for wrappers as well as binders. It is valued for its flavor, dark brown color, consistency, and barely visible veins.
Filler
Dominican Republic
Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.
Filler (or “tripa” in Spanish) is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar. The Dominican Republic is considered one of the most premier tobacco growing countries in the world. The filler tobacco grown in this Caribbean island nation ranges from mild to full bodied. Olor Dominicano and Piloto Cubano are the main types of tobacco grown in the Dominican Republic.

NeptuneCigar.com No, the cigars in this sampler are not box pressed. They are all a 60 ring gauge. Only two of the cigars in this sampler are from the Corojo line.

Nice smooth smoke with a bit of peppery/spicy notes to start before mellowing out into creamy grassiness. It had a great draw and burned evenly with a tight, beautiful ash. The only thing I can knock it for is the band size. Once I smoked it down closer to the band (which didn't take that long) it was very difficult to remove and I felt like it was then a race against time to get the band off before it burned into it. However, it's still a great stick that I would definitely smoke again.

My first Camacho. Well built, solid, almost seamless cigar, with a veiny light colored Connecticut wrapper. Pleasant light aroma of hay and tobacco. Amazing draw, tight enough to be Perfect. No teasers on the cold draw. Smoke volume is light with an even, slow burn. Good flavor, slight cedar and wood, very smoth and uneventful. Good cigar, just not great, specially Value wise.

Of all the cigars I have smoked this year, this cigar stands above the rest. The wrapper is the color of creamy peanut butter. The roller made a beautiful veinless cigar that draws well, and burns well. The aroma from this cigar is like fresh baked bread right out of the over. The flavor is lightly sweet, and slightly fruity, but leather like, and creamy. An overall mild smoke. A very special cigar that is worth a try.

Very well-constructed cigar (as you'd expect from a Davidoff brand) with excellent flavor. I would point out that these are made with less tobacco in them, so while you will always get an excellent draw they do smoke faster.

I tried this cigar due to a recommendation from a friend. I honestly wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. The construction was great, and the burn was very sharp. It has found a place in my light cigars humidor along side the Perdomo Champagne, Roma Craft Intemperance and the Southern Draw Rose of Sharon.

These are great, silky smooth cigars. Even though they're 'Robustos,' to me they're more on a the mild side and a good break from stronger cigars. One even produced a slight cotton candy flavor. The price is right, too.

Was OK, probably my least favorite out of the Camachos. Balanced flavors of cedar and pepper all the way through. Draw was good, burn was nice, a couple of touchups, not a bad cigar by any means I just didn’t really care for how the flavors played off each other.

They're back, I hope. I started smoking these exclusively about 3 years ago. The first year they were outstanding, great burn, draw and taste. Then the wheels fell off the wagon. The box of 20 that had come shrink wrapped no longer were and the quality really suffered. When you got one that drew nice, maybe 20%, it usually canoed. I tried the 4pk samplers and they seemed to be made better. But the inconsistency was driving me nuts, so, luzzie put together a sampler pk of other brands. Last week I bought a few of those and a box of camacho. The camachos came shrink wrapped(btw, some well meaning but I'll informed CS person at Neptune said they were never shrink wrapped-wrong). So far, the first few sticks from this box were as I remembered them, great.

I've really been warming up to Camacho lately, and this blend is no exception. This Connecticut has some strength behind the smooth and somewhat peppery flavor. Excellent construction and an easy, loose draw. Burn is razor sharp. Still kind of on the mild side when compared with other Camacho blends, but this one is quickly becoming one of my go-to smokes.

I'm not gonna lie. This cigar took me by surprise. I guess I wasn't expecting anything special but, man, was I in for a surprise! Wow! What an aroma right out of the cello sleeve! I was talking on the phone while I unwrapped it and I think I actually exclaimed out loud "WOW"! Post toast, it came alive with terrific earthy flavors of hay, buttered toast, chamomile, cedar and a nice natural tobacco sweetness. The smoke was medium bodied and had just a subtle hint of sharpness, but no harshness at all. This cigar burned perfectly and maintained a tight solid ash for an inch and a half, where I knocked it off because I didn't want it to fall on my pants. It was actually still holding on tightly. This cigar only lost a point in one area... the draw. It was slightly tight... not problematic, but just tight enough to make you think "I hope it loosens up a little". If you're looking for strength, look elsewhere. This cigar scored on the mild end of the strength-o-meter. Overall: This is a cigar that you're gonna want a box of. Pairing notes: Put this cigar next to just about any drink. It's got one of those flavor profiles that will go nicely with just about anything. This would be a great smoke to have on the porch with a tall glass of iced tea.
