The Tatuaje 10th Anniversary line, crafted by Pete Johnson and the García family at My Father Cigars, celebrates a decade of the brand with refined Ecuador Habano-wrapped Nicaraguan blends in the Belle Encre and Bon Chasseur formats. The later Tuxtla edition replaces the wrapper with a Mexican San Andrés leaf, offering a darker, richer profile while maintaining the same core blend. Both versions highlight how wrapper origin alters flavor expression in Tatuaje’s hallmark full-bodied, small-batch craftsmanship.

Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Ecuadorian Habano wrapper has become one of the most used cigar wrappers in the market. Grown primarily by the Oliva family, this tobacco originated from Habano or H2000 seeds brought to Ecuador from Cuba. This leaf is rich and flavorful thanks to the temperate climate of Ecuador and the quality of its volcanic soil.

Nicaragua
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Not a bad one. It's not as dark as my usual preference but it sure is packed with flavor. The aroma is very nutty but that doesn't carry through as much to the flavor as I thought it would. Nice woody taste with a mild sweetness and cinnamon spice on the retrohale.

If you're a fan of the Tatuaje 10th Anniversary Belle Encre, then the Belle Encre Tuxtla is absolutely a must for you. We start off with a nice oaky and chocolatey dry draw, very smooth with just a hint of coffee as well. The first few puffs of this beautifully rolled perfecto gives you bold chocolate notes with a nice spicy retro hale, nothing too strong, just a nice toasty sweetness coming off of its Mexican San Andres wrapper. 20 minutes into this stick and its flavors are still in full effect, the combination of sweet and spice, with a nice chewy smoke that makes you not want to put it down. After about a good 50 minutes, it was time to call it a day, knowing from the start that a cigar this size likely wouldn't make it to the hour mark. All in all, after smoking the original Belle Encre and loving it, the Tatuaje Belle Encre Tuxtla was everything I expected it to be and more. This cigar had a great draw, with complex flavors of chocolate, oak, pepper and its subtle sweetness did not get boring. Its medium body strength makes it an any time of the day type of smoke and I highly recommend it to smokers looking for a delicious cigar to either start or end the day with.

The Tatuaje 10th anniversary Tuxtla in Perfecto. This cigar has flawless construction!! A quick Xikar V-cut & the dry-draw was fantastic with nougat and dark barnyard & tobacco Xikar Verano flat flame light ?? & the first draw was also fantastic with a smooth nougat & deep rich chewy tobacco with some fantastic smooth & light I'm getting some rich Oak & Walnut but not much on the quite smooth retrohale because it is so light & smooth. Sometimes offering just a kiss of pepper with 0 burn Again I'm pairing this awesome stick with just my favorite iced tea but I suppose because of the dark Oak & Walnut it would complement any darker beverages E.G. a dark roasted coffee. Burbon, or beer The ash is a speckled Grey & white solid chunk that hold to nearly an inch.. This is a great celebratory smoke or just a Friday evening relaxing stick! As I enter the final third I've yet to experience transitions but honestly can you expect any transitions above & beyond what this cigar has to offer, the only disappointing attribute is that this smoke won't last more than an hour & 20 minutes... this is one of those smokes that you don't want to end!! Thank you Pete & thank you Neptune The craftsmanship was a 10 the burn was a razor sharp 10 the flavor was a 10!! This was a well aged tobacco worth the 10th anniversary

Bought a few to try on a recommendation. Beautifully constructed and a very convenient size. My three all had significant stems rolled internally which affected the burn. Numerous corrective re-lights were necessary on this small cigar. Smoke flow was inconsistent but the flavor improved after almost a month in my humidor. Best I can say is that is an OK cigar, certainly not above 86-87 rating overall.

Absolutely loved it. The flavours were right in my wheelhouse. Black coffee was very dominant in mine. I particularly like the first two thirds.. The last third becomes a little one-dimensional. I will stock up on these later on.

A well made nice looking cigar. Started out with heavy notes of pepper and strong coffee for the 1st 1/3 then got smoother and very tasty as more flavor of nuts and coffee came in. Unfortunately this only lasted a short while and then it went back to the strong black pepper harshness. I've had much better cigars from Tatuaje with abundance of flavors. This one only had this a very brief time.

The Tatuaje brand has yet to disappoint me, and the Belle Encre continues that track record. As a matter of fact, this may very well be my favorite overall stick by the company. Upon lighting, you know what you're in for: a medium to full strength profile, with a nice underlying note of cocoa lasting from the first puff to the last. After a few minutes, some notes of leather introduce themselves and compliment the chocolaty finish nicely. The perfecto shape adds a nice touch, and as a cool bonus, the cigar is rolled in Miami! Definitely one to keep in the humidor at all times.

I gave this cigar 2 stars for appearance and 5 stars for everything else. I hate the look of the perfecto and this is no exception. The band is ridiculously boring. But the draw and burn was flawless. The smoke output was nothing short of a locomotive and the taste was just out of this world. I've smoke a lot of Tatuaje cigars and could never understand the fuss, but this thing rocks. Just goes to show you, you can't judge a book by its cover. Outstanding taste all the way through to the end. It's rare to find a cigar that tastes this good from start to finish. I will be buying more as soon as i hit send on this review.

Besides this cigar catching the eye due to its unique shape and appearance -- the flavor is equally intriguing! This med to full body smoke is delicious from beginning to end -- and I mean very very end! This cigar smoke is so cool you can actually smoke it to the nub without getting hot! The flavor is extremely smooth -- rich earthiness flavors -- sweet and peppery at same time. The ash was also perfect from beginning to end! A must try smoke.
