The RoMa Craft Intemperance EC XVIII features a light-brown Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper, which is draped over a binder from Indonesia and filler tobaccos from Nicaragua. A mild to medium-bodied cigar, the RoMaCraft Intemperance EC XVIII offers up savory notes of nuts, butterscotch, cedar, and chocolate. Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Claro wrapper is light, yellowish brown in color.

Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Ecuador is the perfect place to grow wrappers, because it is located on the Equator! And it has rich soils too. The weather conditions, with a nearly permanent cloudy sky, provide a natural shade, protecting the wrapper plants from sunshine and allowing the tobacco to grow thin and light. This climate allows tobacco growers to grow Connecticut-seed wrapper in the shade without shade cloths, resulting in more economical wrapper.

Indonesia
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Tobacco is grown in many islands of the Archipelago but, as far as cigars are concerned, Sumatra and Java are the ones. Sumatra Wrappers are worldwide known. Central Java (Vorstenland) and East Java (Besuki) give fillers and wrappers in abundance. Indonesia is a key country for cigar tobacco.

Big contrast between the first and second half. Started out very harsh and spicy, not a great experience for me. But the second half really mellowed out and became enjoyable. Ended smoothly and flavorfully. Sort of the opposite of most cigars. Perfect medium strength. Paired well with bourbon.

Very, very good cigar. Just shy of great. Construction was excellent, burn was even all the way down to the nub. Draw was ever so slightly snug. Flavors aren’t as developed as I would like, it’s probably better in a slighter larger vitola. Easy, good smoke.

For me this smoke checks all the boxes. An every day smoke that I truly enjoy. Recommended by Rene and I wasn’t disappointed. Great draw and good flavor notes. Its more of a medium cigar for and that fits in my wheelhouse for a morning or lunch smoke.

Recently we received a good selection of new cigars, but one in particular had stood out to me. Not just because it was a Roma Craft with the word GOODNESS on the box, but because it was a box pressed Connecticut. Being a sucker for box pressed cigars, I jumped at the chance to try it. As I giddily removed the cigar from the cellophane, I was greeted with a sweet hay and brown rice aroma. After applying a straight cut, I started to toast the exposed foot. Upon first puff, I tasted smooth cream and dry bread toast notes. Taking sips of my big cup of coffee, the natural creaminess of the cigar nicely enhanced the creamer I always add to my coffee. Half way in and enjoying the generous smoke output, the cigar changed to a heavy cedar taste with a light pepperiness to the finish and retro-hale. Chugging coffee and puffing my way past the band, I was hit with a strong blast of animal cracker notes. At the end with about a half inch left, I can happily say this is a great cigar for the mornings. The burn gets a little sideways at times, but I never had a real issue and it always corrected itself. I highly recommend any type of coffee, a single malt scotch or a light whiskey to pair with this cigar. Now go out and get some before we smoke them all! (ooga ooga)

It is full of flavours. A lot more strength than stated. Wasn't as smooth as described. Smoke output was fantastic. but the burn was horrible on mine and i didn't love the flavours.

I was pleasantly surprised. This did not suck - at all. On the milder side, which is nice. Great burn, great ash. It did burn hot towards the end around the band, but otherwise great, especially for the price. Will be re-ordering.

I am big roma craft fan. However this specific cigar is a bit on the mild side for me. I prefer the more robust and "edgy" cromagnon and neanderthal.

Great cigar with flavor. It is a cigar you can enjoy at any time of day. It is a CT shade for full bodied smokers.

Roma Craft has been releasing simply outstanding cigars, and this is a fine addition to their line-up. A beautiful golden brown wrapper that is beautifully constructed and at first light presents a perfect draw and rich flavorful smoke with toasty wood and roasted walnut notes. This is one to stock up on as you'll find yourself wanting more, and this excellent price makes it easy to. Will buy again.
