The NUB is a premium cigar that develops it's optimum flavor quickly. The larger ring gauges provide a cooler burning, longer smoking cigar while accentuating the flavors and smoking qualities of his uniquely blended filler. The Nub Cameroon is medium bodied with rich cedar and coffee notes.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Colorado maduro wrapper is milk chocolate brown.

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Cameroon wrappers are grown in the East part of the country. The growing area spreads over the eastern border, into the Central African Republic. Wrappers are air grown, without fertilizers and pesticides, by small farmers. The average plantation size is about one acre. The seed is originally from Sumatra, introduced in the country just after WWII.

Nicaragua
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.

Oliva Cigar Company is Nicaragua's second largest grower of tobacco and one of the largest cigarmakers in the world. It all started in 1886 when Melanio Oliva first grew tobacco in Cuba. In 1995, his grandson Gilberto Oliva would launch the Oliva cigar brand, produced in Esteli, Nicaragua. The company's flagship brand, Oliva Serie V, has obtained some of the highest ratings in cigar publications worldwide. Their cigars use mostly tobacco harvested by the company in their various farms in Nicaragua.

They believed that a cigar finds its “sweet spot” at the 3 ½- 4 inch point. All “nub” cigars must exist within this window. No “nub” is longer than 4 inches. Further adding to this complex theory, the ring gauges range from 56-66. The result is a range of smokes that have the same amount of tobacco as any Churchill or even Presidente. Unbelievably, they also smoke as long.

Overall the cigar should be considered a hit, however it missed in the most important category for me. Taste. I don't mind burn or draw issues as much, but if I can't get over the taste then the cigar is not for me. Not saying others won't enjoy it. It is just not pleasurable to me. I am also not going to sit here and pretend I can breakdown and discern tasting notes. Willing to try it one more time before knocking it.

Regarding cigar selection, I've always said it's good to branch out and try different things. In order to practice what I preach, I opted to venture out of my comfort zone in not one, but TWO ways. The Nub Cameroon 466BPT is a charming little cigar made by Oliva that features box-pressed construction along with a torpedo tip (you now may be able to figure out what the BPT in its name stands for). The reason that this is out of my norm is due to the wide 66 ring gauge and the sharp torpedo tip. Due to personal preference, I usually avoid cigars with a gauge bigger than 56, and torpedos are not my preferred vitola because sometimes the draw can leave something to be desired. However, I could not resist the adorably unique size and shape of this Nub - it truly stands out on the shelf. Once cut, I attempted a dry draw and was ecstatic to find that the pull was extremely open, simultaneously noticing a note reminiscent of toffee. Once lit, I was chucking clouds like a dragon! I can't recall the last time a cigar gave me such a nice and easy open draw, and I'm also very impressed by the flavor from start to finish. Coffee, cedar, and even the occasional graham cracker found its way into the blend, and the Cameroon wrapper gave a deliciously subtle sweetness to the retro hale. I have also officially changed my feelings towards torpedos and their draw, although I feel the only reason the fat ring gauge didn't bother me was ironically BECAUSE of the sloping torpedo tip. My only knock to this HIGHLY enjoyable cigar is that it's gone after only about 35-40 minutes. Oh well... more reason to buy a box ;]

First time with a Nub, It has numerous reviews, so I will not repeat what others have written. It is a small cigar, Unusual, I have heard arguments that is a great short smoke, and it is a Good smoke, no doubt; but personally if and when I smoke, I like to relax, and take my time, enjoy the experience. The Nub experience, is not for me. Nonetheless it smells great, flawless construction, has a perfect draw, sharp burn with gray/white solid ash, good flavor, its just missing 4 inches, jejeje.

I used to avoid the Nubs, didn't understand how anyone would bother with such a shorty... then I tried one. Man O Man was I wrong, these are part of the most valuable members of my humidor! Didn't realize how PACKED they were with flavor and tobacco. Slow burn, a totally enjoyable experience, and the perfect size if you don't want to commit more than an hour, and still have that "big" cigar experience. Enjoy them all, but but gravitate to the Cameroon & Habanos the most. The Connecticut is also a wonderful "morning with coffee" smoke. Highly Recommended

LOVE these little buggers. The flavor is OFF THE CHART. If they only made the exact same cigar, but in a Toro, Churchill or Lonsdale, it would give me a longer smoke. But for a short smoke, nothing beats these. And nothing beats Neptune's prices and FAST delivery....

Like anything else I have tried from Nub these did not disappoint me. Nice aroma out of the box. Good dry draw, lighting was easy and no uneven burns from any of them. Yes, I do smoke these cigars down to the nub. After all, isn't that their name!!! If you have not given Nub a try, Cameroon is a good starting point. Medium strength and great taste. Enjoy

Great little cigar set - it’s tough to quantify four cigar styles (which came in this sampler) with one review. The set itself was nicely packaged and had even made a few of my friends audibly jealous. They were wondering where i had even found such a set. The punch tool it came with was a nice touch; although, upon using the punch tool, i feel that i was drawing too much smoke, which was nearly forcing me to inhale some. One cigar in the pack burned unevenly. That may have been user error, but i don’t think so. Overall this is a great product and i would recommend to a friend!

These are good cigars, but they don't compare to a full size padron. I wanted a small, go-to cigar when I don't have time to smoke a larger cigar so I purchased a few of these. I would try the A Fuente Hemmingway (small) if you want a go-to small cigar.

I've smoked plenty of NUBS over the years and decided to redeem some SMOKE RING points on the NUBS sampler pack. I wanted a smaller, shorter smoke than my usual LFD D-700s, DIGGERS and my CAO FlatHead 770s, so the NUBS were it. Good flavor, although the four different blends weren't vastly different. Construction is nice, with no plugs, or pineapple burns and while not large cigars, I got a good 40-50 minutes out of each, which is what I wanted. If you're looking for a shorter (time wise) smoke, but want a solid medium flavor, the NUBS should be worth a gamble. Chris

Nub doesn't disappoint! Very much love these smokes. Taste great and flavorful. They do get hot at the end. Recommend using a punch to cut.

Good, consistent cigar. Open, easy draw with plenty of smoke. You can't beat it for the price. One of my favorite go-to cigars. I like the Habano also, but usually go for the 460 Cameroon.

This is an interesting cigar - both because of the vitola size (short and thick) and the Cameroon wrapper. I found holding these cigars unlit also enjoyable. While mostly smoking Cuban Cigars, there are a few non Cubans that I keep stocked in my humidors - this NUB just made the cut due to the uniqueness mentioned above.

Definitely worth a try so you can form your own opinion on this brand and what the smaller form has to offer. I usually like a stronger flavored cigar, but ironically found everything but the Cameroon a bit of a disappointment. That stated, many friends who's pallets I respect based on some excellent recommendations kindly disagree with that opinion. We all agree the smaller form factor is not a gimmick and that the sized punch is a great bonus if you like to smoke this brand.

These are a great daily smoke if you want something light, relatively quick but with a good amount of flavor. Initially I was concerned that the smaller size was a gimmick. After sampling several I can confirm, at least for me, the hype is real. Specifically, the Cameroons come up to their full flavor quickly and equally tolerate a quick 30 min smoke as well as they do an full hour engagement. At the cost, I also don't feel too bad if I have to set it down at the end of a quick smoke break. My only recommendation is to put them in a tube or carrier if you plan to travel with them. In my experience, they usually fare worse than other small cigars when unprotected in a coat pocket or unsecured in a briefcase.

A firm pack and a comfortable draw make this robusto a long smoking slow burner. I smoked it almost all the way through the republican primary debate. Of course, there were never any probing questions for the candidates about their stances on fixing the stupid smoking laws in the US, but I'd be surprised if Trump isn't a cigar smoker. Anyway... back to the subject. This cigar delivered nice flavors of toasted oak and cedar with a bit of a bite. I wouldn't describe it as smooth, but rather a full bodied smoke with a great aroma and an in-your-face-ness to the flavors. It deserves a solid medium strength rating, and if you like a nice thick chewy kind of smoke, this cigar is for you. The burn wasn't perfect, but it performed okay with a couple of touchups. Try pairing it with your best rye whisky on the rocks and you won't be disappointed. Oh... and be careful not to burn your fingers, because you will smoke this cigar all the way to the Nub.

The Nub cigars are well made and tend to be a very nice smoke, and this one is no exception. It may be short, but don't be fooled - I smoked it for a long time and enjoyed every puff.

I have been wanting to smoke a nub for over a year -- glad I finally took the plunge!! This box pressed torpedo shape was perfect-- a pleasant 45 minute smoke. This cigar burns very cool and produces a large volume of smoke. Also the ash is a nice white strong one! This cigar is very smooth, slightly sweet throughout. Even though it is not so complex it has great flavor. The draw was perfect. Overall great experience with my first nub.

Perfect short cigar. Nub Cameroon is darker but not overpowering because it is so short. If you want a quick smoke, consider this cigar.

The nub line is my go to brand, and I can't say which one is my favorite as they all are great. This cigar is my favorite shape and size that nub offers though. I'm a noob to the cigar community but it seems as though the flavor is a little more rich with this particular shape and size as compared to the 460 Cameroon. I love it and would definitely recommend it. I just wish Oliva would make the Maduro, Connecticut, and Habano in the 466 BPT.
