Fans of broadleaf tobacco are going to love the Rocky Patel DBS. Why? Simply put, it’s stuffed with broadleaf. In fact, “DBS” is an acronym for Double Broadleaf Selection. The filler is composed of Honduran and Nicaraguan broadleaf tobaccos. The filler is held together by a dual binder made of USA Pennsylvania broadleaf and Nicaraguan tobacco. All this broadleaf goodness is then covered by a savory, Mexican San Andres Maduro wrapper. The Results? A medium to full-bodied smoke that’s packed with an ultra-satisfying flavor and aroma that’s perfect as an after dinner smoke.

Holy tight draw Batman!
Good taste not great. Not worth the price.

After having two of these, the draw on both of them was very tight. The cigars required constant relighting. I believe because of the tightness of the draw the airflow was restricted causing burn issues. The cigars however, have a wonderful flavor, so yes I intend to try them again. The taste alone makes this cigar worthy of another try.

The Rocky Patel DBS Toro is one of those cigars that really makes you stop and pay attention. DBS stands for “Double Broadleaf Selection,” and you can tell right from the first light that Rocky wasn’t messing around here. The wrapper is a rich, oily Mexican San Andrés broadleaf that gives it a dark, almost rustic look, and underneath you’ve got Nicaraguan binder and fillers mixed with Pennsylvania broadleaf—so it’s packing depth from every angle.
Right off the bat, you’re hit with earthiness, cocoa, and this sweet spice that coats the palate. There’s a natural richness to it, almost chewy, but it’s balanced and doesn’t overwhelm. As it opens up, I picked up black pepper on the retrohale along with leather and a subtle espresso note. By the halfway point, the cigar settles into this beautiful groove where the flavors weave together—bold, but not harsh. The broadleaf really shines through with that dark sweetness and a touch of mineral character.
Construction is classic Rocky Patel: firm roll, slow even burn, and a dense smoke output that feels luxurious. The draw had just the right amount of resistance, and the ash held tight in long, solid stacks. Strength-wise, I’d put it in the medium-to-full category—not a knockout punch, but it definitely commands your attention.
Overall, the DBS Toro is a cigar for someone who wants complexity and richness without sacrificing smoothness. It’s got enough punch to satisfy seasoned smokers, but it’s also refined enough that you can sit back and really appreciate the craftsmanship. To me, it’s one of the more memorable releases from Rocky in recent years.

Unsmokeable due to being plugged even after multiple attempts with the perfect draw I was able to get some smoke but still super tight and no enjoyment at all so I put it down after 15 min of so. No excuse for this at this price point if I didn't like the flavors that would still be fine but just something I didn't like but construction is universal and should be near perfect from a near $20 cigar

Clove, espresso, spices, bitter almonds, the smoke is a bit stimulating, overall quite good

Typical RP. Nothing exceptional, but a good smoke

This was an incredibly good cigar, very nice flavors, creamy, smooth, nutty, and chocolate, all at the same time. It’s worth the money
