Micallef Black Firecracker 3 1/2 * 50, Box of 20

Micallef Black Robusto 5 * 52, Box of 25

The Micallef Black is a bespoke cigar that was created to please the palates of the brand’s most devoted fans, aka the Micallef Ambassador group. The fans wanted a more potent cigar from their beloved brand. Micallef listened and tasked Joel and Edel Gomez-Sanchez, their exclusive blenders, to create a blend that is smooth, sophisticated, flavorful, and full-strength. After three years of trying different blend combinations, they finally settled on a specific one for the Micallef Black. The blend consists of premium Nicaraguan filler leaves housed in an Ecuadorian binder and a mouthwatering Mexican San Andres maduro wrapper. From first puff to last, this impressive smoke balances strength with flavor, and it is known for its complexity and smoothness.

Cigar Origin
Nicaragua
Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.
Strength

Full
Wrapper Color
Maduro
Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Maduro wrapper can go from dark coffee brown with a reddish tint to blackish brown (the latter also called Oscuro).
Wrapper
Mexican San Andres Maduro
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Mexican tobacco is very dark and the best leaves can be used as maduro wrappers. San Andres Maduro is a thick, medium bodied dark leaf, also called San Andres Morron. Like Connecticut Broadleaf, San Andres Maduro is stalk cut and used for binder and wrapper.
Binder
Habano Ecuador
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Habano Ecuador is a Cuban-seed tobacco that is grown and cultivated in Ecuador using traditional Cuban methods.
Filler
Nicaragua
Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.
Rolled by
Handmade
Handmade cigars are completely made by hand from start to finish.
Manufacturer
Micallef
Micallef cigars are handmade at the Gomez Sanchez Family 1934 cigar factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. Established in 2016, the cigars were created by Al Micallef, a Texas-based entrepreneur and the Gomez Sanchez family, which has been in the tobacco industry for three generations.

If you like full body maduros this one is for you! Similar to Tabernacle.

Brock09/30/2026About: Micallef Black Toro 6" * 52

I've smoked gas station"cigars" for many years, Backwoods predominantly. My buddy bought a couple of sticks out in Indy, and I chose the Micallef Black[of the two options given)as he said he'd never smoked an Italian before. Dozens of sticks and year later, Micallef Black are still my favorite cigar. First third is so so, but wouldn't even consider changing for fear of messing with the second and third thirds flavor. That leather punch at the second third that tapers to a peppered final is a winner for me. I use the first third to "settle in" anyhow, pulling just enough to flavor the 2nd & 3rd thirds properly. First "Box of cigars", and thus far the only box even up for consideration.

Mexican San Andres chalky cocoa note. Espresso. Black and red pepper. Black pepper baking spice retrohale. Walnut and oak. Dry oak on the long finish.

Dan B.06/10/2026About: Micallef Black Toro 6" * 52

Nice looking and fantastic value flavors were sweet with a slight spice and chocolaty. Construction was not perfect a little snug draw and burned hot and a little fast for a while developing a hard cone on the ash but for the price I would revisit

Jesus B.06/07/2026About: Micallef Black Robusto 5" * 52

As a Micallef fan boy, you cannot go wrong with the black! I personally like the green the best, but this one for its price and quality is a no brainer!

Claude P.01/13/2026About: Micallef Black Toro 6" * 52

Good value. Solid Maduro. Full flavor. Good smoke.

Stephen L.11/18/2024About: Micallef Black Robusto 5" * 52

Score: 90 Earth. Cedar. Pepper. Rich. Decent draw. Burn was unremarkable until the ash fell off at the halfway point. Smoke output was thick and luscious. Medium to full bodied.

Ian C.11/07/2024About: Micallef Black Toro 6" * 52

The burn was only slightly off but otherwise fine, there was no need to touch it up except when it canoed. The Aroma was amazing, however, the taste was only ever okay in the first half it was a little bitter but I got notes of pepper and some leather, the last half got better with coca and some light vanilla, however, it still had a little bitterness up until the very end where it mellowed and tasted really nice. Definitely a good daily cigar with coffee, especially for the price.

guillermo j M.11/06/2024About: Micallef Black Robusto 5" * 52

by far the best of the Micallef line

Alejandro A.10/16/2024About: Micallef Black Robusto 5" * 52

This is not an amazing 7 dollar cigar it is an amazing cigar. Bold and full flavored. This is a definite box buy and worth a spot in the rotation.

Alejandro A.05/25/2024About: Micallef Black Toro 6" * 52

Best value cigar of 2024. Flavor , smoke output, and overall enjoyment is insane. The san andres wrapper is sweet.

Excellent cigar, box worthy for sure and definitely for the price

Miguel E.01/29/2024About: Micallef Black Toro 6" * 52

Much better than the robusto size. It is strong but with lots of flavor. Bit harsh towards the last third

Miguel E.01/29/2024About: Micallef Black Robusto 5" * 52

It is more pleasant in the air than in the mouth. It packs allot of punch but not enough flavor. Not my cup of tea. Somehow it tastes different than the toro size I had just 2 days ago.

Matthew C.01/25/2024About: Micallef Black Robusto 5" * 52

Really solid smoke. Very short after taste; really subtle flavors initially. Unbelievably smooth and some spice starts to come forward halfway through the cigar. Lots of mild vanilla, milk chocolate, pepper notes. Really fleeting flavors throughout the smoke which makes it superb to me. I haven’t smoked a better cigar at this price point.

Marcus S.12/28/2023About: Micallef Black Toro 6" * 52

several burn issues on all four I got, but this is even better than its smaller Robusto little brother with notes of cedar, raisons and mild pepper

Marcus S.12/28/2023About: Micallef Black Robusto 5" * 52

great inexpensive daily smoke cigar with mouthwatering flavor

David H.12/18/2023About: Micallef Black Toro 6" * 52

This is the Micallef I have been waiting for! The core line is good, do not get me wrong, I have just been waiting for something with a bit more punch and this cigar definitely delivers on that.

Matt P.10/04/2023About: Micallef Black Robusto 5" * 52

Uneven burn and hard pull, started to canoe after an inch and the. Fixed itself a little paste halfway. A lot work on the first one. Nice appearance. Some of their other blends are much better.

Mark L.09/20/2023About: Micallef Black Toro 6" * 52

Wow, for the price, this cigar simply cannot be beat! Micallef knocked it out of the park with this one. Smooth, well balanced, spicy chocolate notes. I love it.
