Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Colorado is a medium brown color also known as EMS or English Market Selection as this used to be the color with more popularity in England than in America.

Honduran
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Honduran cigar wrapper has the reputation of great quality, with wrapper leaf being grown in the Jamastran, Talanga and San Agustin valleys. Some of the wrappers being grown in Honduras include Corojo, Honduran Claro, Honduran Criollo, Honduran Jamastran Viso Rosado, Honduran San Agustin Havana Seed and San Agustin Ligero.
Binder
Nicaragua
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.

The Cohiba Nicaragua is the most exciting unveiling from General Cigar's Cohiba brand in a long time. As the name suggests, the cigar is made in Nicaragua with mostly Nicaraguan tobacco from Jalapa and Esteli, and a Honduran Sun-Grown colorado wrapper. All other Cohibas by the company are made in the Dominican Republic. The Cohiba Nicaragua En Crystale is the only vitola in the line to be packaged in glass tubes in 8-count boxes. Tom I bought the 30 pack, should I place them in my humidor ? If so should I take them out of the cases before placing in my humidor?

NeptuneCigar.com Yes, you should place them in your humidor. If you do not want to completely reomve the cigars from the tin you can open the tins so that humidity can reach the cigars more easily.

If it were legal and socially acceptable, I'd leave my wife for this cigar. The draw and burn on this cigar are excellent. The cedar, natural tobacco, and Earth flavors are sure to make any bad day go away. The cigar is dark, oily, and produces an aroma that ALWAYS gets me compliments, even from non-cigar smokers. For a 6 X 60 cigar to have all these create qualities is remarkable.

The Nicaragua is my favorite from Cohiba, and while not the same as a full-size, these little gems are fantastic in the morning with a cup of coffee! Full-flavored but still very smooth, I would recommend it if you want to kick it up a notch from your typical light “first-of-the-day” smoke. This is also great with an afternoon espresso break. Slow burning, the draw will tighten up a bit, but nothing a gentle roll between your fingers won’t loosen.

Whenever I'm asked at the store if we carry Cohiba, 9 out of 10 times the person is referring to the Cuban variant. In fact, many people are unaware that Cohiba has Dominican and Nicaraguan offerings that easily hold their own in the cigar world. I gravitated towards the Nica blend for this review, as that is my personal country of choice for the majority of the tobacco I smoke. This cigar wields a large black and gold band, with the famous "red dot" sticking out nicely. Upon lighting, there was a short and mostly subtle pepper blast, which then led way to a leathery note that lasts throughout most of the duration. Notes of oak and even a little bit of berry appear from time to time, and always at just the right moment, keeping the cigar from becoming one-dimensional yet not overly 'busy'. Solid construction gives forth an even burn, and no relights were needed. Next time you think about the Cohiba brand, remember that they are more than just Cuban!

I have always been a bit of a Cohiba fan and when I found out they were doing Nicaraguan cigars I just had to try them. I definitely wasn't disappointed absolutely stunning. I will be buying some more of these in the future.
