Foundation Charter Oak Connecticut

According to Nick Melillo, President of the Foundation Cigar Co., the Charter Oak Connecticut cigar is an homage to his home state of Connecticut. In addition, Melillo wanted to create a budget-conscious cigar designed to be enjoyed every day and for any occasion. The Charter Oak Connecticut surpasses this goal. The Charter Oak’s handsome Connecticut shade wrapper surrounds a Sumatran binder which envelops a carefully blended filler from the Jalapa and Estelí regions of Nicaragua.

Jay Verhaag  As a long time cigar guy, sometimes a stick(regular/favorite) just doesn't taste/smoke as enjoyable as usual. I'm aware of the handmade/rolled characteristic that in it self could cause this. However, sometimes favorites just are n't up to par. I truly suspect this varies because of my "mood", circumstance etc. Am I unique, or do you(others) find?

  • NeptuneCigar.com  You are not alone Jay! Though you will experience natural variances from cigar to cigar, often other factors, including what you last ate, what you are pairing the stick with, etc do have some effect on how the smoke mingles with your palette.

  • Norm  As a true aficionado since the 1970s and having tried many cigars over the years, Charter Oak has found a home with me. I am a Connecticut fan all the way. But I have also noticed that from time to time no matter what we smoke and enjoy for a period of time, all of a sudden, we can indeed find that the same stick just may not be up to par as you say. I too have noticed this phenomenon and have asked myself, what is the reason for it. Is it (me) or is it the stick? So, I drop them for a while and then I go back and find that after not smoking them for a while, I enjoy the very much once again. I've always been a "remove the cellophane wrapper" kind of guy but have recently found... it's BEST to leave them on! We never stop learning in life. No one (including me) should too proud to admit we know everything. I am still learning too. Charter Oak (in my opinion) is a much better smoke than (ANY) of the Padron's or Davidoff's (which I see as very over rated and way too expensive as well.

John  Trying to order Charter Hill Connecticut Toro. When put in Saint Pat discount code your computer wants to charge me for shipping (indicated free on order page at $102.60 cost). Once shipping added, basically the St Pat discount is lost.

  • NeptuneCigar.com  Hi, John. To qualify for free shiping your order total does have to be $99 or more. What you can do is add a single or two to bump the total back up to qualify for free shipping.
