When developing the blend for the La Palina 125th Anniversary cigar, owner Bill Paley (grandson to Samuel Paley the brand’s founder) sought Oliva Cigar Co. (another company with a century old history in the cigar industry). Together they carefully sifted through Oliva’s vintage private stock to develop the ideal blend for this very special commemorative cigar. The cigar is a Nicaraguan puro that features a savory dark wrapper and is topped off with a pigtail cap. This medium-strength stick is perfect for special occasions or when you want to sit back and smoke a great cigar while contemplating your life’s achievements. The La Palina 125th Anniversary cigar is handmade in Nicaragua at the Oliva Cigar Co’s factory.

Oliva Cigar Company is Nicaragua's second largest grower of tobacco and one of the largest cigarmakers in the world. It all started in 1886 when Melanio Oliva first grew tobacco in Cuba. In 1995, his grandson Gilberto Oliva would launch the Oliva cigar brand, produced in Esteli, Nicaragua. The company's flagship brand, Oliva Serie V, has obtained some of the highest ratings in cigar publications worldwide. Their cigars use mostly tobacco harvested by the company in their various farms in Nicaragua.
