Montecristo Ciudad de Musica

Altadis U.S.A. has collaborated with Crowned Heads to release a tasty homage to the latter's hometown of Nashville, Tennessee. Translating directly into "City of Music", this limited edition cigar uses an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper on top of a Nicaraguan binder and Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. Available in 3 standard sizes, plus an exclusive Piramide vitola solely for Casa de Montecristo lounges, this medium-bodied stick marries boutique creativity with classic elegance masterfully.

A decent smoke but a little young tasting. Would benefit from a bit of rest

About: Montecristo Ciudad de Musica Sublime 6" * 54
If ever there was a cigar that proved to me that this hobby is very subjective, this would be it. This cigar was very well constructed, it cut without any unraveling or debris and the draw was very balanced (not too tight, not too loose). When I first lit it, I could swear that I smelled popcorn and a bunch of other weird (but pleasant) smells. And then it began to seem like a refined Angel's Anvil 2017. But once I got past that first half an inch... woah, what a beauty. It transcended the Anvil in such a manner that I needed to rewrite my review. Yeah, the band was long, but how shocking it was to see this cigar have two inches of perfect ash on it. I tapped the ash off out of fear that it would crumble any second, but it took a pretty strong tap to get it off. I would bet that 3" of ash would have been possible with this one. And by the way, the ash was perfectly straight - no unevenness or bending. Just perfect ash. The cigar was divine right down to the last inch. I smoked until I couldn't smoke it no more, and was disappointed when I was done. For my tastes, I hold this cigar in as high a regard as the Andalusian Bull and the Shark. I'll be buying five more and leaving them next to my other prize cigars. The only downside was the band. Well done!

Saw as one of the staff picks. And they do know best. It is a great stick. Smooth and light pepper. Delicious!!! Will be purchasing again.

A little harsh, but still an interesting full bodied smoke

I have to confess the real reason iI smoked this cigar was because of the name. I consider myself a happy kind of person and Ciudad de Musica makes me think of happy songs and pleasant moments with family and friends. The band is very unusual with three logos on it: Montecristo, Crowned Heads and Ciudad de Musica using black and copper colors in a fairly large band that cover most of the cigar. Simple but strategically done, even though it prevents the gorgeous Ecuadorian habano wrapper from being fully appreciated. To be honest not my favorite cigar band but the name and the fact that it is a collaboration with Crowned Heads intrigued me. The cigar starts as very earthy and cedary with some pepper that comes and goes in my palate but keeps steady in my nose and almost make me sneeze. It’s not overpowering but it is playful and interesting. By the time I reach the second third the pepper has receded and become smoother and the cedar notes take over with hints of wood in the background. The last third is very creamy and woodsy with a very pleasant sweetness and a mild pepper to wrap the smoke. Good draw, well constructed and a nice burn line. No retouches needed. Medium to medium plus in strength this cigar is a must try when you are feeling adventurous and want to give your palate a different experience than your average everyday smoke. Having tried the Toro and the Robusto size I think the Robusto is by far more complex and satisfying and will not disappoint.
