The La Flor Dominicana Solis cigar is the first release by Litto Gomez Jr., the son of Litto Gomez, who is the founder and owner of La Flor Dominicana. “Solis” is a Spanish name meaning sun. The cigar is a celebration of the sun. Litto Gomez guided his namesake in developing the cigar’s blend. Tony, Litto Jr’s brother, designed the artwork for the cigar’s band and boxes. The Solis cigar features an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper placed over an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder and filler tobaccos from the La Canela farm in the Dominican Republic, which is owned by La Flor Dominicana. The cigar is a full-bodied smoke with a very spicy profile.

Was intrigued by the blend. Love the sleek dual banding. Vcut. Dry draw felt quite constricted so I turned it into a crown cut. Doesn't feel like a knot but too tight of a roll potentially. Flavor profile is creamy, nutty and slightly spicy. Genuinely delightful smoke. Draw started to open up finally in the second third. Burn was impressive and the ash stack was tightly bound like rolled coins. On each ashing there's a perfect cone construction underneath. At the halfway point there's some earthiness, a dash of pepper and the Sumatra binder starts to shine. Draw opened up a bit more in the final third and the flavor turned into green tea and almond. would definitely revisit. spent 2 hrs with it, and if that draw is an anomaly I could see this being a surfire winner.

The beautiful presentation led me to purchase this one. Flavor starts out nutty with little spice and some notes of hay. The spice builds as you progress which is quite lovely. This is one that I might have to revisit.
